Ridin with the Fam in Vail!

This jacket is great to just throw in your pack in case of afternoon thunderstorms in the Front Range. Don't leave home without it. Protects against all but the worst of deluges.

The all day jacket

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Some rain jackets require you to take them off as soon as its not actively raining. This jacket is thin enough and breathes well enough that its a jacket I'll wear in-between rain storms. Packs well and has proven to be pretty durable - crashes and poor packing jobs haven't harmed the material at all.

Nice jacket

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Nice jacket! Today was 80 degrees and raining on the trail. I stayed dry and comfortable in this jacket. It breathes well. I really like the Velcro adjustments at the wrists and the adjustment at the neck keeps the rain water out. I carried my wallet and keys in the chest pocket - they stayed dry as well. Super light weight - great for backpacking. I also ordered the Gore Paclite Universal Hood. The jacket has a Velcro attachment in back of the collar to accept the universal hood.

I got the universal hood. It fits very nicely with the jacket. And it fits comfortably under a bike helmet. It's great for backpacking - super light weight.

Is the green jacket goretex paclite or is...

Is the green jacket goretex paclite or is it the standard make of goretex. Most garments feature the packets emblem prominently. Whereas the other jackets feature this logo on the color, I noticed that the green one, which is the cheapest of the lot, does not. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hello jay,

Thanks for your question.

I inspected the jacket that we have on hand and it does indeed have a Gore-tex Paclite laminate. The reason for the price difference for the Varsity Green color is that it is an older color from 2013. The other two colors, Neon Yellow and Red, are this years 2014 model.

I hope this helps.

GREAT jacket at a better price!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small

Played a golf tournament in a brief driving rainstorm and was dry to the bone. Rode 35 miles in rain on my road bike and not wet or clammy. Performed as a GORETEX product should, perfectly!

I have broad shoulders/chest. This jacket...

I have broad shoulders/chest. This jacket seems to not have a skinny/racing fit, should I try the XL or XXL, chest around 46-47". I saw the fit scale, but then the other dude says he's at a large, but didn't mention chest size. I love how bike gear runs for squirts, us bigger cats still ride!

Gore often times runs small. Also, don't forget to allow room for jersey & base layer. This line has a 'relaxed' fit. You can find out more on the Gore site. I would suggest size up from what the chart recommends, to allow for layering, and room to breath/move.

I am 5'8" and weigh 165lbs and bought a large, fits well....these run small!

Great Jacket

This is the best money I have spent for a jacket. It has performed flawless. I went a size up, however, and that has allowed me to wear a mid layer along with a base layer.

This Jacket Works

This is a no-frills, waterproof cycling jacket that does everything it claims. As for fit, I usually order up one size in cycling gear as it in general seems to run small, but in this jacket I find that my regular Large size fits well. I'm 6'1" and 175 lbs.

Bought the jacket hoping to use it for both mountain and road riding. I usually wear a medium but my chest is a little bigger than most men my size. Knowing I mountain bike 80% of the time I ordered a bit larger jacket for movement. Works great off road. But on the road it is a little loose in the wind, a medium would be great for me in this situation. Great jacket but if you ride both on and off road you may need two different sizes. Love it off road!

Size runs a bit on the small side so you need to order a size up, otherwise a great jacket.

Which goretex jacket is the lightest...

Which goretex jacket is the lightest weight?

Responded on

Any of the GORE-TEX® Paclite® jackets would be the lightest of our current offering. GORE-TEX® Paclite® jackets are meant to be packable and can be stuffed into their rear pocket if there is one. Any variance in weight amoungst GORE-TEX® Paclite® jackets would be due to additional features such as a stow-away hood etc

Our lightest overall jacket would be the Xenon AS Jacket which is made of WINDSTOPPER®.

Hi, is this the Path or the Path II jacket?...

Hi, is this the Path or the Path II jacket? To clarify, I believe the Path II is the 2011 model is an improvement over the original Path.

Does the GBW Path jacket have underarm...

Does the GBW Path jacket have underarm zippers?

I have seen it listed with and without. Can you confirm?

Responded on

The Path Jacket does not have underarm zips, however the rear pocket is mesh, and can be used to both pack the jacket into itself, or can be left unzipped to vent the back of the jacket.

hope that helps!
