Description

Hidden comfort.

While we all have a favorite pair of shorts to ride in, it's not guaranteed that said shorts have a chamois -- this is especially true of all-mountain shorts. And given that product diversity within the realm of all-mountain and downhill apparel is growing rapidly, investing in a quality pair of liner shorts is now more important then ever. For this very reason, Gore Bike Wear created the Inner Tights Plus. Now, you're able to put your fashion foot forward without having to worry about taking a step back in comfort.

For the bulk of the Inner tights' construction, Gore employed an 80/20 blend of polyester and elastane. Essentially, this blend provides the ideal combination of both stretch and moisture management. The hollow-core polyester fibers pull perspiration away from the skin, transporting it to the quick-drying surface of the shorts. Meanwhile, the elastane fibers add a four-way stretch to the shorts, ensuring that they move with your body, not against it. As a result of each fiber's characteristics, the Inner tights remain comfortable, conforming, and dry over a long duration in the saddle.

Additionally, Gore incorporated mesh inserts at the outer-region of the thigh, running from the hip to the hem. As a result, thermo-regulation is well-maintained, minimizing the necessity for moisture management. For further comfort, the waistband has been constructed from a body-conforming elastic, and the shorts' seam structure employs flatlock stitching throughout. This eliminates the poignancy of standard stitch patterns, while also providing the shorts with a true, next-to-skin fit.

For the chamois, Gore included its Power Man insert. This chamois features an anatomic design that directs pressure away from the sensitive areas of the body, like the perineal region. Accordingly, your weight is supported by your sit bones instead of your nerves. Additionally, you'll find that the contoured shape of the insert allows it to move with you as you ride, instead of bunching and chafing against the skin. Furthering this concept, the Power Man chamois features a proprietary fabric at the outer-layer that's non-absorbent in order to maintain a dry interface between your skin and the insert.

It's worth noting that these liner shorts feature loops at the waistband for attachment with your outer-shorts.

The Inner Tights Plus are available in the color Black and in five sizes from Small to XX-Large.

Great Liner

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The liner that came with my Dakine shorts was horrible. These are great replacements and the price is fair too. I just ordered more. Unlike the Dakine liner, this is tight (not baggy - what was Dakine thinking?) and the pad is not too wide between the legs (Dakine felt like a diaper). They breathe very well, too. I normally wear roadie bibs as a liner when the temps are cool, but on hot days, these are so much cooler. Nice work Gore. My one complaint is the elastic waistband is a bit too tall and stiff.
