Socks and gloves can be tight, but give the boys a break.

Whether you plan on covering miles in the forest or on damp city streets, the Gore Bike Wear Fusion 2.0 GT AS Pants' all-weather, all-purpose design will keep your legs comfortable and dry. It's constructed from a mix of Gore-Tex Active Shell fabric with stretch inserts, and plenty of cycling-specific features to offer you the ultimate in comfort.

Active Shell is a lightweight, three-layer laminate that's optimized to wick perspiration and block wind while offering resistance to rain and snow. It's highly breathable to prevent overheating, but it'll still offer warmth when needed. The other benefit of the Active Shell is that it easily and compactly packs for storage when it's not needed.

Gore added Gore-Tex stretch panels where they'll complement the Fusion's anatomic panels for excellent freedom of movement. The knees are articulated and along the inside of the leg are vents for added cooling if needed. At the bottom of the leg, hook-and-loop fasteners provide adjustment to keep the pants from snagging the drivetrain or frame.

The waist band is wide to distribute pressure and avoid any pinching. Adjustable straps are placed along the sides of the Fusion 2.0 to avoid interference with packs. The Fusion 2.0 GT AS Pants feature a full complement of reflective elements fro low-light safety. It's available in sizes Small through XX-Large.

  • Gore-Tex Active Shell membrane, backer, and face material

Nice, but fit is terrible

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:Runs small

These pants are well made and will keep you dry, but the fit is so bad I cannot recommend .

I have Gore Bike Wear gore-tex 3/4 pants in the same size and they fit totally different in the waist.

Decent, but lacking in durability

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

I loved these pants when I received them. They provided outstanding protection against water, wind, and cold. They're aerodynamic, and the reflective stripes were a nice touch for night riding. I thought they used more material than necessary in the lower leg area which made them a bit warm, but they were still great.

However, after less than 18 months of use, I'm getting actual leakage -- we're not just talking wetout from overwhelming the DWR. I know how to maintain Gore-Tex stuff. I wash with tech wash, apply DWR, etc. I get actual water spots on my clothes and it's not good for comfort.

In all fairness, I use mine more than most people would. I ride at least 5 times a week year 'round and I ride in anything. But having paid over 200 bucks for them, I would have hoped for some more life.

I personally feel that the alternatives are WAY too heavy so if you're looking for a pair of rain pants you can actually wear, this is still the way to go. But don't expect them to last long if you ride much.

Not a bad pair of wet weather pants

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:Runs small

These are a great pair of Gore-Tex pants. They work hard to keep you dry in the wettest of conditions. They add a nice thermal layer on super cold days so you do not have to layer that heavy on those snowy days. I find that they do run a little small. The legs are a little tight but not uncomfortable.

Another great Gore product

First, I have not tried these in the rain yet, but they are great for blocking the wind over regular pants. They add a surprising amount of warmth. This Gore-Tex Active material breathes amazingly well. The Velcro on the calves is placed perfectly to wrap the legs tightly around the calf. They're tough, especially considering how light they are. I've had a couple of crashes into the bushes with these; and, after washing, they look as good as new. They roll up well to fit in a pack. Warning! These pants are cut slim so they don't flap in the wind. You won't pull them on over your shoes. If you want to wear them over bulky pants, you may need one size larger than usual.

Nice styling, tight fit

I got these for my husband in size medium; he normally wears jeans size 32 waist. They were way too tight and also too long, maybe a good fit for someone about 5'9" and 135 lbs. Otherwise, nice and light, fit close around the legs, velcro at waist to adjust for tucking in layers. If they had a better size selection I'd get them.

    Nice styling, tight fit

Sometimes you can find the same thing, but in women's. They would be shorter (usually a 31" inseam); and usually they look the same; only time it would make a difference would be if a chamois/liner is part of the pant...size-up with Gore. Maybe check into that option, no one else needs to know, or would know.
