Gore Bike Wear's Women's Fusion shorts take all the elements of men's performance gear to create a pair of robust mountain biking shorts that offers both maximum protection and a women-specific fit while you ride. Receiving nods from both Cycling Plus Magazine and What Mountain Bike for 'Editors' Choice' awards, these shorts bring their A-game to the trail.

Made to correspond with the contours of a woman's body, the shifted seams on the Fusion shorts provide a more comfortable ride with less chafing. An elastic, width-adjustable waistband with a hook-and-loop closure helps maintain the fit you need as you grace the single track or your local post-ride hangout.

Ventilation inserts on the front inside-leg house an adjustable zipper to keep your legs from overheating during long climbs. The rugged fabric construction keeps you protected in the event of a wipe out. Two side, zip-closure pockets and a zip pocket on the back waist keep your keys, cellphone, and nutrition safely stowed away. These shorts do not come with a chamois insert but can be easily paired with your favorite Lycra shorts for added protection and comfort.

The Gore Bike Wear come in Black and Earth Beige/black. Sizes run X-Small to XX-Large.

Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Arm Length:
Measure from the center of your back to your wrist with arms held out.
Waist:
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Hip:
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
Inseam:
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.

high rise

These shorts have a very high rise (crotch to waist length). Aside from being uncomfortable for any kind of bottoms, It's especially annoying when you are bent over on a bike. I liked the fabric, nice and light, with a nice stretch to it. And I was willing to forgive the awkward looking color blocking to have a lighter color pair of shorts (tan and black vs all black for riding in the hot desert sun). I wear a women's 14 to 16 depending on the brand and while I could technically wear the XXL, it was not cut very well for riding a bike unless you really like pulling your waist band up to your ribs. A touch wider in the thighs would have been nice as well.
