Gore Bike Wear Countdown SO Hoodie - Women's $0.00
You live and breathe to ride your bike, but that doesn't mean that you want to look like a lycra ninja day in and day out. Gore Bike Wear brings a little street style to your kit with its Women's Countdown SO Hoodie.
The Countdown SO Hoodie was constructed from Gore's own Windstopper soft shell. This three-layer laminate is a soft shell fabric that combines a total windproof outer layer, and breathable and soft mid-layers to keep you comfortable. This soft shell effectively blocks chilly head winds while allowing perspiration and excess heat to escape. The cut is a relaxed fit, so it's comfortable for the post ride foray to the coffee shop.
The hem is equipped with an abrasion-resistant elastic to help prevent the Countdown from riding up while you pedal. All panels are joined with flat-lock seams to prevent irritation or hot spots. There are two zipped hand warmer pockets with an audio port for safe routing of your ear buds.
Additional details that set this jacket apart from your club gear are the subtle screened floral pattern on front and rear panels, and bi-color binding at the hem, sleeves and hood.
The Gore Bike Wear Women's Countdown SO Hoodie is available in sizes X-Small to XX-Large and in the colors: Navy blue, White/red, White, and Thai Pink.

- How to Measure:
- For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
- Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
- Arm Length:
- Measure from the center of your back to your wrist with arms held out.
- Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
- Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
- Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.

- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I bought a med. for a looser fit even though I'm usually a small in gore and I love this jacket. I especially appreciate the extra length in the sleeves. I usually wear it for bike commuting and like the hoodie styling as it doesn't look like a typical bike jacket.
I love this jacket!
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: Runs small
I purchased it for the Australian winter and it's perfect in weight and warmth when coupled with base layers. I am an 8-10 size and glad I ordered a Medium; this fits well. The long sleeves with thumb holes add extra warmth. I purchased the jacket for everyday wear, not cycling. If you are serious about cycling there are numerous better jackets out there. For everyday wear - it's perfect!
So wrong in so many ways
The only thing I like about this jacket is the windstopper fabric.
The fit is all wrong. It runs very very small. I am always a small in outerwear and based on other reviews (on other sites) I ordered a medium. It barely fits. There is no room for other layers underneath. And the arms are so long it would fit Elastic Girl in action (Probably 3-4" too long for me, even taking into account leaning over while riding). If anyone buying this size jacket is well endowed, well it will not zip.
The hood is ridiculous. I realize bikers may want to wear a hood under their helmet but functionally, I cannot imagine an attached hood working well at all. First it would catch the wind and send it down your back. Second it would pull at your hair (so annoying). And would anyone really use a ponytail opening? I know I wouldn't. The fabric is rough on the inside so would make a tangled mess of your hair while riding.
I bought the jacket in Thai pink and it's prettier than I thought. It's more of a fuscia than pink. And you can't really see the floral detail as described.
The length sits at my hip joints (I am 5'4") which I am glad since this jacket will be more for outdoor hiking than biking and the added length will help me stay warm on windy days. (Hey Gore, how about adding the length down the back to the specs?)
I am not sure I will keep this jacket, but I got it on sale for 40% off so the price was right for windstopper. I'll try it a few times and see if the tight fit and ridiculously long sleeves are a problem or not. If I had tried this on in a store I would not have bought it.
I cannot recommend this jacket.
