Bike wear Gore AS vest

I love all most all of my Gore products, this vest included. It is light weight but because of the wind stopper material it keeps me warm This will not work for sub 40 degrees but this with arm warms works for mid 40's up. Nice clean vest, back pockets and a chest pocket too.

Gore Vest

Ive had mine for several years, Its pretty much my go to pieace of clothing for cooler or windy days. I used it with long sleeve or short sleeve jerseys. Packs up small to carry along. Ive even used it back country skiing. It keeps the wind off you with out over heating you. The side tabs, allow you to snug it up over what ever thickness in clothing you are wearing.
Of all the bike clothing I have, I use this the most and it allows you to ride in a wide range of weather.

Gore Bike Wear Countdown AS Vest - Men's

Should have bought this years ago but there wasn't an option at a price point like this. Bought the vest mainly for the front windblock and the rear vent. It performs as expected. However, I am loving the access to my own jersey pockets. This has been easier than I expected. I have used it twice on 2 long road rides. I think the vests rear pockets are kind of hard to use, but the side access from the vest to your jersey's pockets works great. I ordered a medium and I usually wear a medium in the American fatboy fit. The medium was snug when I first put it on and zipped it up. But after getting on the bike and in the riding position, it fit good. I am not sure if I would recommend sizing up. It depends if you like your vests/jackets flapping in the wind or not. I looked at about 10 vests before I bought this one. Right now, there is not another vest on the market that I found that has the rear pocket access like this vest. Hope this helps, keep on riding.

Does it have back pockets?

Does it have back pockets?

Best Answer Responded on

Yes! You're asking about one of my favorite items in our line...

Not only does it have 2 pockets on the back (deep and great for arm warmers), but it also has vertical slits under the pockets that let you get into your jersey pockets underneath (without having to scrunch up your vest!!!).

hope that helps,
Robert, Gore Bike Wear

Great Vest

Seems perfect. Zipper works great contrary to others complaint. High collar that is lined, Material is medium weight, not the heavier wind block stuff nor a see through vest. Two mesh pockets and easy access to your jersey pockets are nice. Form fitting (I got a med-I'm 5'11", 165) with only minor wind flap near the shoulders on a at 40 mph decent. Overall, a great vest!

Terrible Micro Zipper

Vest is great weight, just enough to be warm and keep out the chill but noto too hot.

Too bad they used a micro zipper, mine lasted exactly 2 months, first the zipper got corroded probably due to sweat and then the end tore off the bottom of the zipper as the material is so light and the zipper itseld is so darn small, so now the vest is useless.

Good vest - terrible zipper makes it a bad deal

Same here - a couple of months old and the zipper separated (ripped) at the bottom. Too bad, because it's a nice vest.

too baggie

Decent vest, but too baggy for me (31" waist). Maybe a nice fit for a size 34 or 35 guy, or a guy with a gut. It's odd, I own three of Gore Bike Wear's jersey's, and they fit perfectly.

Great Quality, but the fit....

....could be a bit more snug, esp. in the back. There'll be a lot flappin' in the breeze.
