Description

Make every ride a contest.

It makes sense that Gore Bike Wear made its Contest Tights Shorts+ with a cycling-specific fit. It also follows logic that the Contest shorts are constructed from a wicking and stretchable fabric.

For the construction of the Contest Shorts+, Gore chose a blend of nylon and elastane for the main panels. When combined, the resulting fabric provides effective moisture management and plenty of stretch in order to keep you feeling unrestricted in the saddle.

And because comfort is paramount, Gore employed flatlock stitching throughout these shorts, while also placing elastic grippers at the leg openings and waist. Together, these attributes minimize movement and prevent any threat of chafing. Furthering the comfort, the chamois used here has an anatomic design that directs pressure away from sensitive areas. Accordingly, your weight is supported by your sit bones instead of nerves like the pudendal.

Gore incorporated reflective materials throughout the shorts for low light safety. The Contest Tights Short are available in five sizes from Small to XX-Large and in the color Black.

Nice cycling shorts for the price!

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've been looking to start replacing some older cycling shorts I bought a couple of years ago in a price range I can afford. Saw these and thought I'd take a chance on them. One ride and these are by far the best padded shorts/bibs I own. Like them so much I just bought another pair.

Comfortable Tights

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I've only used these tights a couple times but man are they comfortable. There is hefty padding around the groin area, not the most breathable padding but it keeps my butt happy during long rides or spin sessions.

UPDATE: Just got back from my spring break trip to Utah and New Mexico. Used these shorts on Slick Rock in Moab and took a pretty nasty fall on one of the slopes. The padding around the groin saved...everything. They still look brand new. I'd give these shorts a couple more stars if I could. Thank you Gore.
