Brrrrrrr.

Riding throughout the year requires forethought and a sizeable collection of season-specific gear to keep you comfortable and churning out the miles. We're so used to wearing bibs or bib tights that the idea of windproof boxers seems mildly foreign. But after a ride or two in the Gore Bike Wear WS Base layer Boxers, they've become an indispensable component to our cold-weather riding.

There are really two parts to how WS Base Layer Boxers help keep your genital area warm and comfortable during cool-weather rides. The first is moisture management. Your body has a much more difficult time regulating its temperature when your skin is wet. The combination of an internal hydrophobic fabric (100% polyester)with an external hydrophilic fabric (100% polyester) pulls moisture away from your body to keep your skin dry and aid in temperature regulation. The second part is protection from the weather. Gore uses WindStopper windproof fabric (100% polyester with a WindStopper membrane) to shield your skin from wind and help your body maintain its core temperature. These two aspects of Windstopper fabric work together to increase your efficiency and performance.

WS Base Layer Boxers increase comfort in other ways, as well. The Gore Contest Man liner is designed for short to medium rides and focuses on making the climbs more comfortable. The seamless anatomical design reduces chafing and irritation. Mechanical stretch panels (88% polypropylene, 8% elastane, 4% nylon) ensure maximum range of motion and increase durability by stretching instead of tearing. Gore also designed WS Boxers with a high-cut back to give you full coverage in the seated position.

Gore Bike Wear WS Base Layer Boxers come in Black or White. They are available in sizes Small through XX-Large.

Here's what others have to say...

Well worth it

I ride a lot in cold weather through the winter. These made a big difference in keeping warm.

Do you wear these under your bib-shorts?

    Keep'em warm!

Well, I have no doubt that these will definitely keep things nice and warm down there. Unfortunately, when I was placing the order I specifically asked if they had a seat pad and was told they did not. Low and behold when they arrived, they did. Because the plan was to wear these under standard cycling shorts that already have a pad, it would mean doubling up on the padding which was something I was not interested in. I don't need them under my tights due to their already having a double layered front. I returned the shorts without even trying them on/wearing them (that would just be gross). But having looked them over quite a bit, there is no doubt in my mind that they will work wonders. If they make them without a pad, I will definitely be picking up a pair.
