Description

Wear anything on your bike.

Cycling shorts that can be worn comfortably as underwear—that's how we'd describe the Gore Bike Wear Women's Base Layer Shorts. Designed to be worn under pants or shorts, they can come in handy when a short errand trip turns into an impromptu training ride. Or when you're commuting to class but don't really want to sit at your desk in a racing kit. Bottom line is that they'll keep you in inconspicuous comfort anywhere you decide to ride.

The Women's Base Layer Shorts are made of a thin and soft polypropylene/elastane blend that wicks sweat away from your skin to the outer layer of the fabric, where it can evaporate. The 9% elastane in these shorts makes them stretchy, but not overly compressive. The Contest Lady seat pad is elastic, so it moves with you, and it's designed to provide comfort over short to medium routes. Variable-density padding provides more cushioning where you need it the most.

The elastic waistband is brushed on the inside for comfort. The few seams on the Base Layer Boxers are flat-locked to minimize abrasion, and the back is cut high so that they don't slip below your outer pants or shorts. The Gore Bike Wear Women's Base Layer Shorts come in sizes X-Small through XX-Large. They're available in Black or White.

  • Contest Lade chamois offers comfort and support on short- to medium-distance rides
  • Elastic waistband is brushed on the inside for wicking comfort
  • High-cut back won't let breezes in when you're in the drops
  • Flat-lock seams minimize chafing

Are these a practical choice for someone who is short-waisted? I have a wonderful Novara cycling skirt that I love, only issue I have is that it comes up to my armpits! Okay, slight exaggeration, but my armpits and natural waist are not too far from each other. Anyone with any knowledge on this subject? P.s. I am 5 foot 6 inches and weigh 120 lbs. the Novara skirt to which I refer is a size small.
