Late season, alpine mountain biking can take you to great heights. These heights, however, can often lead to sub-freezing temperatures. The Gore Bike Wear ALP-X Thermo Bib Tights Plus are designed for the rigors of high-elevation and snow-belt riding to offer the insulation and wind protection this style of riding demands.

Constructed from a mix of a thermo-stretch fabric and an abrasion resistant material with water resistant inserts, the ALP-X Thermal Bib Tights will retain heat as you pedal over frozen-solid trails. Its stretch allows ample movement around the cockpit for negotiating tight switchbacks, steep descents, or grinding climbs. For those creek crossings and muddy sections, the water-resistant inserts keep you protected.

Cycling produces perspiration even when it's bitingly cold. The thermal-stretch fabric has a lightly brushed interior that's designed to pull perspiration from the skin and transfer it to the exterior where it's quickly evaporated. This prevents discomfort while riding and when you're trailside taking in the view.

The ALP-X Thermal Bib Tights panels are shrewdly cut and placed to avoid irritation from the seams anywhere there's movement or a pack interface. The seams are also flat lock for a low-profile, un-obtrusive joint. The Gore Bike Wear ALP-X Chamois is perforated and shaped to offer breathability and padding without overdoing it. This keeps you pedaling longer with more comfort.

The ALP-X Thermal Bib has a higher cut both front and rear to ensure maximum warmth, so a locking front zip helps you slide into them with ease. A small pocket gives a secure place for key storage, and reflective piping gives motorist a heads up if you're caught on the road at dusk.

Gore Bike Wear ALP-X Thermo Bib Tights Plus comes in Black only and sizes Small through XX-Large.

Gore ALP-X

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

These are good tights, but, a bit thin in the back when the temps are in the teens (17-19).
Been using these to commute to work and would recommend these for temps above 25. Great in the wind. Light-weight and they do not impede the pedal stroke at all. Love the fit. Just a bit chilly < 20 degrees F.

I have 2 pair of Xenon 2.0 bib tights and am wondering if there is a reason to consider the AlpX 2.0 SO tights as an addition to my riding apparel. I ride as much as possible through the Winter months, all road bike. The Xenon 2.0 Chamois is great and the tights get me to around freezing comfortably but below that need to start layering on the bottom. Are th AlpX 2.0 SO the same warmth, warmer, less or more padded chamois?

Excellent Tights!

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

The pants fit really nice. They do not obstruct at all when cycling.

fit great on body (I am 177 cm and 73kg and I bought M).

The kept me warm even far below freezing (used them last Sunday at -10C (14F) and I was not cold even going downhill.

I was not toasty, but for sure not cold.

They also feel great on the saddle!

Highly recommended!
