Description

Don't get wet

Temperate, mild winters don't always equate to cold rains. Gore Bike Wear knows the importance of staying dry in all temperature ranges, and put its knowledge to good use with the ALP-X 2.0 GT AS Shorts. If you find yourself riding through rain in humid winter climates, you know how miserable it is to ride in sub par shorts that never seem to dry. Slip a pair of these on and experience a dry and comfortable ride.

The ALP-X Shorts are constructed from the Gore-Tex Active Shell material. This lightweight, 100% waterproof fabric is made to keep you dry inside and out during the most intense parts of your ride. The dual layer material has an outer layer that repels water and wind, while the integrated Gore-Tex membrane pushes water vapors from the inside to the outside. So, with these checks and balances in place, you never have to worry about ending your ride soaked and cold from the inside out.

Gore Bike Wear didn't sacrifice fit for fabrics. Designed for taking a beating over the long haul, the ALP-X Shorts have a wide elastic waistband and draw cord adjustment to keep your fit dialed-in. And when the rains really starts to come down, the adjustable pull cord closure cinches the hem of the legs close to your body to keep the elements out. For durability, a seat reinforcement insert keeps the saddle contact area from wearing through after your first or second tour.

A single waterproof zip pocket on the back of the shorts securely holds your small ride essentials. And reflective elements on the legs and outside of the shorts increase your visibility in low-light conditions.

The Gore Bike Wear ALP-X 2.0 GT AS Shorts are available in the color Black and in five sizes from Small to XX-Large.

Great value shorts

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got these couple of weeks ago. They fit tight. I am normally 35-36 waist, but I had to return XL and get XXL size so that I could comfortably wear winter cycling tights. The overall quality seems excellent so far. I have ridden in -6C weather and the shorts definitely keep the cold and wind out. The leg cinches are a great feature that works well. I have not used them in heavy rain yet. The only negative is the pocket on the back which seems about an inch too deep. If you put heavier items there like a set of keys then you almost end up sitting on them. The workaround is to pull the shorts up a bit, but I prefer wearing mine low waisted so maybe that is the reason why I am encountering this issue.
