Description

There's no reason to be uncomfortable during rides in wet weather when you own GORE Bike Wear.

When planning multiday trips, weight is an important factor — even for your garments. Gore Bike Wear used its Paclite fabric to give the Alp-X Shorts an incredibly low weight. It also is waterproof and breathable. Because of this, your insert will work more efficiently so you'll be comfortable no matter how hot or wet it gets during your bicycle powered adventures.

The heart of the Alp-X Short is Gore's Paclite fabric; a three-layer laminate that is specifically optimized by Gore-Tex to be as light as possible without sacrificing protection from rain or breathability. To do this they shield the ePTFE membrane with a thin layer of DWR. This combination lets perspiration escape, and locks out the weather.

Gore reinforced the seat of the Alp-X to prevent premature wear, and used a wide, elastic waist band with adjusting cord to comfortably hold these shorts in place. The legs are ergonomically shaped for comfortable pedaling, and they have adjusting cords at the hem to lock out cold breezes. Gore also added reflective piping along the legs for low-light safety.

The reflective treatment doesn't stop there, logos on the front and back, and inserts on the hems are all reflective to give you an edge when it's dark out. Gore Bike Wear gave the Alp-X GT Shorts a zipped back pocket for stashing a wallet or keys. It's available in Black, and comes in sizes Small through XX-Large.

Any pockets? How many? Where?

Any pockets? How many? Where?

Hi John,

There's one pocket in the back, just below the waist-band.

It doubles as a vent, but more importantly, the whole pair of shorts stows away in the pocket, and a double sided zipper lets you stash it.

hope that helps,
Robert, Gore Bike Wear

I raced the Trans-Wales Challenge Stage Race in the Alp-X GT Shorts. Nothing like Welsh weather to show you the value of Gore-Tex. Not only was I comfortable all day, but after 50 miles in the muck and rain, look how clean and dry my kit stayed underneath the Fusion GT AS Jacket and Alp-X GT Shorts!
