Rain, wind, snow, or hail—let it dump. The Gore Bike Wear ALP-X 2.0 GT AS Jacket is ready for whatever Mother Nature can dish out. With a patented fabric construction and an anatomic fit design, the ALP-X 2.0 is the water and windproof jacket that will keep you warm and dry throughout your next trail adventure.

Gore Bike Wear's ALP-X 2.0 GT AS Jacket is made from Gore's patented Gore-Tex Active fabric. This material adheres to Gore's rigorous standards of lightweight, windproof, and waterproof construction. The multilayer fabric design allows high breathability and well regulated moisture transfer away from the skin to the outer layer of the jacket. Not only is the jacket designed to compete with the weather, but it provides a precise anatomic fit as well. The ALP-X jacket features stretch inserts on the back and arms, and an adjustable hem and wrist cuffs to allow the jacket to follow you in and out of the saddle. Gore also incorporated an adjustable zip-away hood and a fold-away shirt tail for protection from wheel spray. And although the ALP-X 2.0 is made for mountainous touring, you're going to have to ride home at some point. That's why Gore's included reflective piping on the sleeves and back, and a reflective logo on the front, back, and collar of the jacket. For storage, the jacket uses a front Napoleon pocket and zippered under-flap.

The Gore Bike Wear ALP-X 2.0 GT AS Jacket is available in sizes X-Small through XX-Large, and in the colors Black/white, Castle Grey/black, Red/black, and Thai Pink/black.

Great do-all outer layer.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

This jacket packs easily for any adventure and it's a great do-all outer layer. My favorite thing about this jacket is that it looks great, on or off the bike. I'd prefer some roomier pockets and I'm not a fan of water-resistant zippers as they're just harder to use than normal ones. But that's me being picky. This is the nicest jacket I've used for training and now that the weather is a little questionable, it's a great one to bring along just-in-case.

Dropped-down "shirt tail"

Drapes longer than most other bike jacket...NICE option!

(*the little black mesh areas are the insides of the small exterior interior pockets on this jacket)

Ready to Roll!

It actually rolls up tighter than this, and fits deeper in the outside pouch of my Osprey Raven 14 pack. So, you can easily take it just in case, or shed/pack when it clears up!

Great performance, comfort, and style.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I can't say enough good things about this jacket. Kept me completely dry and comfortable biking in western island in rain, blowing mist, wind. Very lightweight makes for easy layering and packing. The hood fits comfortably under my helmet, providing a seamless rain shield and extra warmth without blocking any peripheral vision. Its very smartly fitted and styled to flatter women's curves. Along with the rain pants, this jacket made for joyful riding in what would otherwise would have been yucky (windy, chilly, and wet) riding conditions. Nice long arms, snug collar really comfortable and protective. Small possible design improvement : zipper got stuck several times on fabric next to it... I had to pull it away manually.

I typically wear a women's 6-8 (small to medium) top and the medium fit perfectly.

Here's my ALP-X 2.0 rolled neatly in my pack...I don't leave home without it (except on really nice days, I now bring my new Gore XENON windbreaker jacket); but in any event, this jacket is still very packable. The pack is a Osprey Raven 14, to give you a size reference.

Great Water-Proof Lightweight Shell...

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Got this from somewhere else (for the color/size I wanted); will say it is good at helping block wind and repelling rain, but could stand some design adjustments:

I like extendable"shirt tail", totally makes sense, it is very useful. I like that the collar can be zipped up high...but the thing is that when you want to un-zip it for some ventilation, the collar is kind of 'stiff'( just the nature of the material) and won't fold down, and ends up being somewhat annoying. Would like to have had maybe a few more pockets & maybe 'pit-zips', too. But it is what it is, a great windbreaker/rain guard (and I sure wish I had it on-board when the weather turned nasty (to have had over top of my winter jersey & jacket) last ride! Four stars for a few needed design improvements, especially for the price. Just saw that this particular jacket has just been awarded (Bike mag.), check the Gore web site for more details. Very light weight/packable. Overall: Recommended!
