Riding in the mountains requires gear specifically designed for the rugged demands that high-elevation riding places on gear. They need to be warm without hindering dexterity or grip, while also being highly durable. Gore Bike Wear uses a combination of its Windstopper soft shell fabric with reinforcement to offer the strength, protection, and grip keep your ride under control.

The Windstopper soft shell is a three-layer membrane that, along with thwarting cold breezes, allows perspiration to escape. This prevents the gloves from becoming clammy during a climb, and worse -- an ice box during the descent. Along the thumb, Gore places an absorbent, soft wiping cloth to help keep thing tidy.

Speaking of absorbing things, the palm gets a specially placed gel pad to quell vibration to help slow fatigue. The index and forefingers have silicone grippers for positive shifting and braking, and there's reinforcement between the thumb and forefinger for durability. Finishing the ALP-X 2.0 Glove is a wide elastic cuff to seal out the elements. It comes in sizes XX-Small through Large.

Run small

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These gloves do a fantastic job in the wind and the 40+ degree temps. The only reason I am giving them 3 stars instead of 5 is because they run small. I used the size chart, My fingers are snug to the point that I probably should have returned them, but too lazy and or cheap. if you are near the size edge, size up. I wish they would just get the sizing righ,t as returns are pricey!

The perfect cold weather glove.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I have very small hands and it can be tough to find gloves that fit. Luckily, Gore makes quite a few small sizes for their women's fit. I fit comfortably in the XS glove.

These gloves offer comfort down to temps around 45 and don't compromise dexterity much. I appreciate the small reflective details on the fingers and the extra padding for grip on the palm.

Great gloves for intermediate weather. My 'M' fits snug, which is O.K. if it's not that cold out, but would suggest a size larger if you want to wear a liner underneath for colder rides (40 F*); but the lobster style gloves will be best for the coldest rides, of course. The Windbreaker fabric can't be beat for wind protection, and water resistance (but not totally water proof).

Love 'em

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great fit...vibration absorbition...wind blocking...warm to about mid forties (or so). They provide great dextariety & grip (as is described). I was between a M & L, but the M fit me perfectly, they are fairly stretchy (my fingers are on the short side (makes playing guitar a "stretch", too!). If you can't get these this season, try them next year. Oh, they look pretty cool, too.
