Item # GIR002R

All-mountain performance.

None of us wants to end up with raw paws during riding season, and luckily, Giro's gone the extra mile with its full-finger Xen Gloves. When these puppies are wrapped around your grips, you'll enjoy not only protection, but also effective ventilation and unrestricted movement.

In terms of protection, Giro made use of sonic-welded armor to cover the knuckles, upper fingers, and the top outside portion of the hand. But, instead of feeling like you're wearing hand braces, Giro has interspersed these protective elements with moisture-wicking, breathable mesh. Even on hot days, the Xen gloves will leave your hands feeling airy and dry.

The knuckles have articulated flex zones, while silicone grip has been added at the fingertips. This results in both unrestricted movement and a positive engagement with the levers for instant shifts and braking. However, the biggest contributor to the Xen's comfort and dexterity is its three-piece, Super Fit Clarino palm. This ensures that the Xen will expertly follow your palm's natural contour. So, there's no bunching at the grips, where blood flow and trail feedback are essential. The 2mm Technogel pad enhances comfort, without sacrificing the handlebar feel that Giro has worked so hard to preserve.

Poron XRD padding is built into the heel of the hand. You may have heard of the material before. Basically, it’s soft and pliable, but in the event of an impact, it stiffens momentarily, acting as a protective shell and warding off the ever-painful bruised palm.

The Giro Xen Gloves are available in five sizes from Small to XX-Large and in the colors White/black/red, Lead/gum, Glowing Red, and Black.

  • Clarino synthetic leather palm
  • Perforated mesh back-of-hand
  • Poron XRD heel padding
  • Sonic-welded armor upper-hand padding
  • Technogel palm padding
  • Knuckle flex zones
  • Hook-and-loop closure

Here's what others have to say...

I was super excited for a new pair of gloves. Only after 8 rides, this is what happened. During all of those eight rides I stayed upright. Super bummed if this what Giro expected from their product.

These gloves are awesome. I'm a woman, and it's hard to find women's mtb gloves with knuckle protection. I've crashed pretty hard on a number of occasions (more than I'd like to admit) and these gloves have held up well. No rips or tears. My only gripe is that now after having had them a year and washing them 3 times the velcro at the wrist doesn't stay put. Fortunately, it's just an annoyance. These aren't flying off my hands, so it doesn't make that big of a difference. Will likely buy another pair (or 2)!

Xen Master

Love these gloves. On my third pair in 5 years with an average of 60 days a year on the bike. They tend to hold up pretty well to abuse and I end up replacing them because they stink or I want a new color. Only had one thumb blow out and that was due to having a front der. I would recommend these to avid riders who want to protect their hands for a future in modeling.

These gloves are great for hot summers here in UT. Unfortunately first day with these I laid my bike down and by default I put my hands down and ripped a hole in the palm. Though there is a hole, I still use them . Only complaint is the material on the fingers is a lightweight mesh that with religious use will not last all that long. Over all great for hot days and does what they're supposed to do.

Have worn these gloves for the past few seasons. super comfortable, great fit. Always seem to rip the seam between my thumb & pointer tho...

I've had 4-5 pairs of these over the past few years & they are pretty good gloves. I keep a couple in the rotation so I always have a clean pair

I would have given 5 stars but my latest pair self destructed after just a few uses. I sent them back but still have 3 I use.

I'm a pretty solid large in most gloves & this one fits the same.

Won't last

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are extremely comfortable so I was hoping they would be my go to gloves. After about 5 or 6 rides the stitching near the joint of the my left index finger came completely undone. Returned!

Not durable

After half a dozen rides and one fall the palm completely ripped open. Unless you never plan on falling avoid these. One star because I can't give zero apparently.
