Item # GIR000W

Yes, it's a shirt and a jersey.

Joining Giro's warm-weather collection of tops, the Ride Crew Pockets Shirt blends the traditional back-pocket design of your favorite jersey with the look and feel of a classic T-Shirt.

Giro applied a blend of polyester and merino wool for the composition of the Pockets shirt, as doing so made the top lightweight, breathable, and able to move moisture exceptionally well. This means that your upper body remains cool and dry while you're en route to the market, leaving you to focus on the groceries on your list instead of worrying about sweaty clothes.

Similar to the rest of Giro's top layers, the Pockets features a relatively slim fit, but was cut with the cycling position in mind. By using a polyester and wool blend, combined with its Heathered side panels and shoulders, the shirt moves with you as you ride, which eliminates any pinching and bunching. Giro finished off this shirt with three rear pockets and a small red logo tab on the hem.

The Giro Ride Crew Pockets Shirt - Short Sleeve - Men's is available in sizes Small to XX-Large and in the colors Bungee Cord/heather griffin, China Blue/heather griffin, and Jet Black/heather griffin.

What Was I Thinking?

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

Chalk this one up as a case of not thinking about the product you're buying. That being said, I'm not sure who this jersey would work for.

Things I dislike:
- Rear pockets are almost completely useless. The material isn't reinforced in any way, and because it's a looser fitting jersey made from very stretchy material, as soon as you put something as heavy as, say, a multi-tool in your jersey pocket, they sag down below your butt. If you can't put anything more than a gu packet into your jersey without it sagging out, what's the point? Forget about carrying a pump, extra tube, etc.
- Material pilled at the first wash. And I hand-washed it, not particularly vigorously either, and I air-dried it as well. Questionable quality/durability of material.
- What is the point of this thing? It has none of the technical benefits of a jersey (useless pockets, no ventilation, it's pretty heavy), yet it has the pockets sewn into the back and it's cut short in the front like a jersey. so you can't entertain the thought of wearing it as a casual shirt.

Things that save a star for it:
- Poly/Merino material at least has a nice feel against the skin, and breathes well for how thick it is.
- The cut is a nice break from the usual XC hyper-spandex look.

Fit: I would order it based off your normal T-shirt size, since it's cut a lot like a t-shirt.

Great product

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: XXL

This is a great design; it fits like a t-shirt and has a heavier weight to it (haven't ridden it in 70*+ weather, but for low to mid 60s it's great) and is just right for running errands or a casual ride. Pockets and functionality of a typical jersey, but the looks of a t-shirt. I've met up with friends for coffee and no one noticed that it was more than a t-shirt until I got up and put my wallet in one of the back pockets.

My only issue is their sizing: CC says a slim cut and Giro's sizing chart puts a 43" chest at an XXL; I got it and it's a bit big on a larger/barrel-chested guy like myself but doesn't just hang off of me or look like I've got a burlap sack draped over me. I'd say that this is more of a regular cut and not a slim cut. Ordered another in XL to see which I like better. Either way, it doesn't look bad for running errands or meeting up with friends or taking a casual ride, sizing is just a bit off for me.

mislabeled, sent wrong color twice

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

ordered the black twice, received the grey twice, kept the first one, not keeping the second grey one.

Great fit, subtle looks

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Small

This is a great mountain jersey that has 3 rear pockets and is a lot more subtle in terms of styling than some other brands. A little on the thicker side and could get hot on a sweltering day but I've ever had it that hot while riding in the trees.

Great cooler weather jersey

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: medium

I use this jersey in cooler weather and it's great with a light jacket into the low 40s. I run hot and imagine the lack of zipper could be an issue as you get upwards of 65. The combination of merino and polyester gives a jersey with a nice blend of breathability during your ride and keeping the smell at bay once you're done. The medium I got is definitely a relaxed fit, but shoulder width and length seem true to size. I do notice a bit of stretch on my return trip when work commuting. I really appreciate the understated look as well.

Awesome Mtn Jersey

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have two of these, and use them as mountain jerseys. If you're not into day-glo florescents aren't your stlye, this jersey is a great alternative to a full zip, 3 pocket, jersey. The merino wool/poly blend breaths well, and I've worn this comfortably in the 70s, once the temps hits 80 and beyond, things get muggy. It still has three rear pockets, and the elastic keeps everything safe. Sizing is true to fit, I'm a small in just about everything including this jersey.
