Polo power.

If you see Giro's New Road Merino Wool Polo Shirt and think "golf course", allow us to enlighten you. The New Road collection is pure commuter love, designed specifically for biking but versatile enough to wear all day, even if your afternoon does entail a few minutes on the links. Giro made the Wool Polo from—wait for it—merino wool, which is naturally soft, antimicrobial, and moisture wicking, so you can ride it on the way to work without smelling like you did. The fit is slim, but made for cycling, so there's enough movement in the shoulders, and Giro finished it off with cycling-specific details like a zippered back pocket and vented shoulder seams to help you stay not-too-sweaty on the ride to the office.

  • Merino wool
  • Slim cycling fit
  • Zippered back pocket
  • Vented shoulder seam

DescriptIon is very deceiving

  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

Product is made in Thailand, not California. It is a blend of merino wool and synthetics, not full merino as advertised.
Still decent quality, only worth it on sale price. Would not pay full price for this.

Slim is a stretch...

I'd never have called this shirt a slim fit. I bought the large because it claimed slim fit. Seems like I had a different experience than others but I felt like the shirt was boxy and wide. Hopefully mine is just defective or something because I really like the materal.

    Trim fit and comfortable

I'm a fan of this shirt! I'm 6' 1" and 180lbs, and a Large fits very well, trim but not tight. I really appreciate that the shirt is cut long, which works well with my long torso. I'm also generally a fan of merino wool.

My one complaint is that some of the seams are unravelling even after just a couple months of wear. I've been machine washing but hang drying, so I would have expected it to be more durable.

That said, still a good shirt and I continue to wear it regularly.

What is the fit like? I'm 6'4 and 175lbs so tall and skinny. Is this euro-sizing or American? I'm thinking an M, but not sure.

I would recommend a large, which is what I have. I'm 6'4" 185. It fits slim with no extra bagginess and plenty of length.

    Soft and functional.

This polo has been my shirt of choice for the office, days off, and beers-in-the-bottle-cage rides. It's super soft and flexible, while still being classy enough for more formal settings. I dig the generous button closure, and it's cut plenty long to cover my lower back while riding the bike. I also find that the zippered back pocket is more handy than I thought it would be.

    I love this shirt!
