LX LF Cycling Glove - Men's

The Giro LX Long Finger gloves are a stylistic throwback to an era of steel framed bicycles, chrome plated toe clips and Benotto Cello handlebar tape. Just because they look retro, though, doesn't mean they aren't made with 21st-century materials. They have Pittards WR100X vented leather on the palm. The Pittards leather is both washable and durable. The palm has four separate panels, and they stitch together at the natural crease zones, offering greater flexibility when wrapping fingers around handlebars. There are two cutting-edge 3mm thick Technogel pads on the outside bottom of the palm. They won't flatten over time and are useful when you have your hands in a thumb forward position on the hoods and in the drops. The gel pads provide just enough shock absorption to make the long miles feel a touch easier.

The back is made of perforated Cabretta leather with inset panels of stretch woven wool. Since these gloves are made almost entirely of leather, Giro designed them to fit snugly when new. They will stretch over time.

The one thing you're probably wondering right now is what kind of care these gloves need? Are they something you can only wear when the weather is just right, and only when it is sunny and dry? The answer is no. They can be worn as your daily glove. They're just right for brisk, early season weather. And they may be more valuable than you may think, as the classic look and feel is inspiring at a time on the calendar when you may need it most. Pittards leather has long been on cycling gloves and we've always washed them in a machine. The people at Giro tell us the LX's can be machine-washed on cold or hand-washed in lukewarm water. They recommend air-drying and wearing them for a bit as they're drying out to maintain your hand's shape. No leather conditioners are needed.

The LX LF also has a number of features that are standard throughout the Giro glove line. There is a Clarino synthetic leather pull-tab at the wrist end of the palm for getting the gloves on, and, we guess, pulling them off. There are low-profile hook-and-loop closures on both wrists; low-pro means that the closures are light, flexible, and almost no bulk. And the thumb is covered with a soft microfiber surface great for wiping your nose, eyes, ears, brow, etc.

The Giro LX LF gloves come in Black with a Black palm, and White with a Black palm. They are available in sizes Small - XXL.
