Item # GIR0435

Shred-ready.

Giro designed the Jacket Shoes for digging, dirt jumping, and going fast downhill on your mountain machine. With a casual vibe and a secure-foot profile, the Jacket Shoes keep your feet supported and looking good regardless of the shenanigans you find yourself taking part in.

The shoes' Vibram rubber outsole provides great pedal feedback, and the EVA midsole keeps the shoes' profile as low as possible. This lets your foot reside close to the pedal axles to encourage efficient spinning. The midsole has Poron XRD in the heel cup that, along with a bootie retention system, ensures a secure fit without any energy lost to heel lift.

Giro equipped the Jacket with a durable, rubber-reinforced toe box. The synthetic leather upper is ventilated for breathability, and the lace-up style provides uniform tension throughout.

The Giro Jacket Shoes - Men's are available in whole sizes 37 to 48 and in the colors Army/glowing red/gum, Black/white, Grey/green, and White/grey.

Sweet Kicks!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large

Great pair of shoes. Casual enough to wear to the bar and stiff enough to ride the gnarliest trails. The Vibram sole is good and sticky without leaving marks on the floor. I haven't fully put them through the paces, but they seem like they are going to hold up just fine. The fit is a little large, so I would suggest buying true to size or down if you are on the fence.

I got these on sale bc $150 for fivetens were not in my budget. I'm a Women's size 7 and went with a 37 and the length fit great. This is a narrower shoe and I had a little discomfort in the toe box at first. I had the shoe stretched in the toe area which cost me $5 and they are great now. They are sticky but not so sticky that I can't reset my foot when I need to. The shoes are pretty sturdy and well made without being too heavy. They protect my feet from rocks and they are comfortable enough for hike-a-bike. I also find them super grippy for scrambling up rocks to get good views. They aren't too hot and dry quickly.

Jackets for your feet!

Awesome shoes out of the box. I am a 5.10 guy because they seem to be the best fit for my feet. However these shoes fit great, I would definitely say they are a bit wider than the usual fit from a 5.10. but not by much. I'd say go down a half size from usual, but I'm no expert. The best part is that the sole is much stiffer than the free rider, giving better power output, also making them much more comfortable for a full day of riding.

Good from the start

I just picked up a pair of these in turquoise, and man do they stand out. As far as fit and function, they are excellent. Just enough flex for good pedal feel and support, and walking in them as a casual shoe is good as well. Materials so far seem to hold up really well, and the vibram sole offers excellent grip on my pedals. Not quite as grippy as five ten's, but I would put them pretty close. When it comes to sizing, I tend to wear between an 11.5 and 12 shoe size. I tried the 46 in these and they fit pretty spot on for my foot. Need to see how they handle the heat in summer riding, but for now, I am quite pleased with the performance and comfort out of these.

that's about my size as well... do you have a wider or narrower foot?

Hey Owen. I have a pretty average foot as far as width. Have not had to go wider or narrower on any shoe that I have purchased.

Too big for my girly feet

These shoes do run wide and big. The sole has great grip, very stiff and is very durable. I changed out the laces in mine so they didn't look so manly. I like these shoes but the 5.10 Freerider seem to fit my narrow foot a bit better.

Too big for my girly feet

I see that you tried these in a 38 — what US women's size do you normally wear? Considering giving these a shot — I'm a women's 8.5 usually, thinking of trying the EU 40 in these. Would thicker insoles have helped the width issue?

Hey Cassie.nel620455. If I were you I would go with the 39's they do run big. I'm normally a 7 to a 7.5 and I wear 39 in most of my cycling shoes but these are still big at a 38.
