The Giro Ionos is impressive for many reasons. One of those reasons are the helmet pads. They manage to fit seven helmet pads in the set, all thin strips, on the inside of the helmet. Two are for your brow, the remaining are for everywhere else. The replacement set comes with all seven pads. The prepared cyclist in us wants to get these ahead of time for the day in the distant future when these are either rotting or permanently odorized by our sweat. The cheap cyclist knows that the helmet pads are made from X-Static, which has anti-microbial/thermodynamic silver fibers woven in. They shouldn't get rank easily, and when do; they're easy to wash. Fresh pads are nice; they'll make your Giro Ionos feel like new.

Ionos Replacement Pad Set

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Although it took a while to get here, I'm very happy with its performance. It was easy to put on and works better than the original pad set.

Better than the original

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I had problems with the official padding the comes with the helmet. The larger front pads would break apart.

However, these pads are better built and have not had any issues at all even after thousands of miles.
