Description

Put the Giro Ionos on. Now take it off. Can't tell can you? That's the point.

The Women's Ionos Helmet takes the top seat in Giro's family of ridiculously light and cool road helmets. Twenty-one oversized vents gulp air into Wind Tunnel channels, keeping you cooler than riding without a lid, and 15% cooler than the 2007 flagship Atmos Helmet. The exposed composite subframe allows the Ionos its ethereal design, and looks totally sweet to boot.

Well worth the wait

Firstly I would like to thank Realcyclist for EXCELLENT Service. Made the mistake thinking my "Head Shrunk" and ordered a size too small. They help me get it re-ordered and I got the correct helmet very timely. I've had the chance to ride...Well nice fitting very comfortable and light. I'll be trying it out more in the fall weather but assume it will be just fine!

Was also wondering about the "pinkness"...

Was also wondering about the "pinkness" of the magenta color. I see in the response below, that it is more of a red-pink. I'm looking to get a helmet to match my bike, which is red (Cervelo red). Would the magenta in this helmet look "off" with a mostly red bike?

Responded on

HI. My friend has this helmet and it's def. a HOT Pink. I don't think it would "match" the red. :)

what kind of pink is this magenta? a pink...

what kind of pink is this magenta? a pink pink or a red pink??

Responded on

The picture is all dull here in bonktown, not sure why but the helmet is a red pink that I would call fuschia if that helps.

Awesome helmet

I love this helmet. It looks cool and feels great.
I forget I am wearing it, love all of the vents for this hot summer.
Also, I feel like I am very well protected it covers more surface than my previous helmet without feeling or looking bulky.

Nice!

doesn't snag my hair, has lots of vents to keep my head cool, and you can adjust the fit. It even comes with a light liner that you can put in or take out depending on weather.

Is there any difference to the men's model?!

Responded on

There isn't any difference in sizing. The only real difference is in color options. Hope that helps.-------Whoa. Just saw this. Sorry for the delay in responding. There IS a difference in sizing between men's and women's helmets. I wear a M in men's, and when I ordered the M in women's, it was too small. I was hugely disappointed. So yes, the Giro women's helmets run smaller than the men's. They do not have the same sizing convention.

Does the Ionos have Australian Standards approval yet?

I honestly don't think Giro applies to be certified for Australian Standards, but I'll call dealer support tomorrow and see what they can tell me.At any rate, Giro does make top notch helmets. Giro and Bell are the only two brands (exact same company) I trust with my head.
