In the ages of cycling gone by, wool was the only option for top-end gear. Its wicking, breathable properties made it ideal for almost all cycling conditions. The Giro High Neck Zip-Up Jersey pays homage to this history while demonstrating how those same properties still recommend Merino wool today for cyclists who want a less race-like look, appreciate a little thermal insulation, or just like sweaters. In fact, the High Neck Zip-Up Jersey might be just as easily described as a sweater, but doing so would elide the functional benefits of the jersey's design and material.
When we first donned the Giro High Neck Zip-Up Jersey, we found that we were having trouble classifying it. Its Merino/synthetic blend manages moisture and insulates like a piece of "performance" gear on the bike, but it's still a Merino blend, so it also wears comfortably over a collared shirt at the office or on campus. So we stopped trying to classify it altogether and just enjoy wearing it. The cuff is articulated to accommodate your position in the saddle, the high collar maintains coverage or unzips to vent, and the extended hem helps you just say no to crack. A zippered rear pocket provides easily accessible storage that guarantees you won't orphan your phone somewhere on the road during your commute.
The Men's Giro High Neck Zip-Up Jersey with Long Sleeves is available in five sizes ranging from Small to XX-Large in the colors Black Heather and Bungee Cord Heather.
