Giro Feature Helmet $0.00
With a little more coverage than traditional helmets, the Giro Feature Helmet offers the protection needed for the truly progressive off-road cyclist. Large vents aid with low-speed cooling when climbing, while the In Form fit systems ensure that your helmet stays put when you're charging over rodeo-rough trails.

Fits well, Looks good!
- Gender: Male
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Definitely strays away from your average xc helmet look. Good comfortable fit, and covers the back of your head well. Definitely a good buy!
I love this helmet so much! It fits perfect as of all the different padding on the straps. It conforms to your head no matter what. Its also extremely breathable and comfortable.
I have yet to take a serious fall with it but it did survive a simple drop test! I had to get all of the falls out of it to begin with. I also love the look of it and the visor! It keeps everything from sunlight to mud out of the way!
So far, its just a plastic hat.
I haven't taken any falls on this yet (expect an update soon...) so as of yet the helmet has only served an aesthetic purpose. But in that regard its been great, with more of a freeride look than some similar helmets.
I like the coverage in the back, as it seems to offer more protection than many other helmets.
I've worn two other Giro helmets skiing for several years, and I find that the fit is the same for the size M. The adjust-ability has worked out fine for me, and while the strap doesn't really offer much in terms of adjustment other than length, I've never found much need for additional adjustment anyways.
So far, I'm a fan.
I've been using the Giro Hex for the past 3 seasons. Which is a great helmet, but I wanted something that came down the back of my head more and looked a little better. I usually wear a L/XL, I got the Feature in L and fits nice and snug, no movement when I'm moving my head from side to side. The helmet is light, vents very nice and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new helmet.
Best Fitting XC Helmet
If you like the fit and look of a Pro-Tec style helmet but still want the venting of an XC helmet this is for you. I have used both the Xen and Hex helmets and both are great helmets, but I have always loved the fit of a Pro-Tec. This fits very similar to that while still giving you adequate venting. The visor is also a plus. It's long and very easy to adjust up and down. My only complaint is that the strap is kind of thin and is already starting to show signs of wear.
Only used it once
...and that is because I went over the bars and landed on my head within my first two miles with this helmet. I will probably buy another to replace it since I have not found anything else at all comparable. This helmet has much better coverage for the back of the head than the others that I've tried (661 recon and Uvex XP), and it is very light. I wanted something that fit more like a real helmet, with a visor, and without the skate/dirt jump kind of styling. The Urge Endur-o-Matic was the only other helmet I found that comes close, but my head is not round enough for that helmet.
Size issue- but great pick.
I've only ever worn full-face, but I've decided risking an East Texas heat stroke isn't worth it. I wear a Large Fly Racing full-face and I have a Large Giro snowboard helmet. Logically, I ordered a Large Giro Feature, but it was just a little too loose. HucknRoll exchanged for a Medium with no issues and it fits great.
That aside, I've worn it for a few months now and I really like it. It gives me more security than a traditional XC offers and it takes abuse. I dropped it on my headset and it left a tiny dent in the outer shell, BUT there isn't even a scuff from a gnarly steep OTB into a tree where my bike flipped over me and bounced off my head behind my left ear.
Final verdict- I am VERY impressed!
.....a good looking helmet! Seriously, that was my only reason for purchasing this helmet. Does everything it should (at least I hope).........
