When it comes to dirt jumping, gloves need to offer uninhibited grip in order to precisely transfer handlebar input. And in addition to this, they also need to be durable and provide ample protection from inevitable bails. Not surprisingly, Giro's passionate engineers and riders have teamed up to develop the DJ Gloves for this often overlooked sect of cycling.

In terms of protection, Giro gave the DJ gloves a 3mm EVA crash pad. This distributes and absorbs impact energy without inhibiting steering inputs from the ride. So, even with a heightened level of protection, you can still confidently steer the bike in the air and get back up after a mid-flight bailout.

The back of the hand is constructed from moisture-wicking and breathable four-way mesh to ensure that your hands stay cool on hot days of riding or digging. The knuckles have articulated flex zones and silicone grip has been added at the fingertips. This results in both an unrestricted freedom of movement and a positive engagement with the levers for instant shifts and braking.

For the DJ's comfort and dexterity, the biggest contributor is its three-piece, Super Fit Clarino palm. This ensures that the DJ expertly follows your palms natural contour. So, you don't have to worry about any bunching at the grips, where blood flow and terrain feedback are essential. Completing the DJ gloves are a micro-fiber wiping surface, and a low-profile hook-and-loop closure with a sonic welded pull tab.

The Giro DJ Gloves are available in four sizes from Small to X-Large and in the colors Black Rad, Black/gum, Day Glow, and White/green.

Here's what others have to say...

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

Durability is suspect and palm isnt correctly for DH. The palm ended up bunching and causing blisters....

These are great

They provide solid protection, breath well, and so far have held up just great. I highly recommend.

Edit for long term use: Have beaten the hell out of these things Dirt Jumping, Downhilling and XC riding. They look new.
