Excellent with the Correct Shoes

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These gaiters are made to work with Giro's Alpineduro boots, and they work very well. Putting them on is lik putting on shoe covers. They are fitted and require some decisive effort. But once in place the keep rain off the laces, and snow and dirt out of the boot cuffs. Good for nasty weather riding!

Great idea - needs improvement

This gaiter is an excellent idea. I got these to use with my winter cycling road shoes (Specialized Deflect) to keep the winter rains out of my shoes. My winter shoes are very warm, but rain gets in through the cuff.

I would give these 3.5 stars, but they are very difficult to zip up. It's a pain. The zipper goes too far down into the sewn material, and it is hard to grab the zipper pull and zip up.

Also, the material looks like it might be a bit dainty for mountain biking, and I am not sure how long they will last.

Overall, an excellent idea, but they need a few more refinements in the next product cycle.
