The middle ground.

We can't all fill our drawers with enough top-of-the-line kit to wear on every single ride, and unless we were racing every day, we wouldn't want to. Giordana's Trade Forte FormaRed Carbon Men's Bib Shorts situate themselves in the middle of Giordana's line of impeccably cut kit, providing features inspired by pro-level pieces at more palatable price tag for the self-sponsored cyclist.

The Trade Forte FR-C is no entry-level model, a fact evidenced by a contoured fit that's structured to follow your body movements without stretching or bunching. The inner legs and seat receive a supportive fit from Zaffiro 2.0 Lycra, while Shield Endurance panels accept the eye-catching sublimated graphics that Giordana adds to the legs. The fit is rounded off with stretchy Ametista wrapped around the waist to provide a supportive, but never restrictive, anchor for the bibs.

Each of the fabrics skillfully work to pull moisture away from your skin and regulate body temperature while you're riding, and 6cm 190 E silicone leg cuffs add reassurance that the legs will stay firmly in place when you're clipping out at a stoplight or standing to reach the top of a tough climb. Finally, Giordana graces the Trade Forte FR-C with its hardworking Cirro chamois. Built on a flexible, breathable foam lining with carefully-arranged cushioning to reduce fatigue, the Cirro extends the Trade Forte FormaRed Carbon's general theme of comfort to the rider/saddle interface.

Awesome Bibs

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

These bibs are awesome...they are my go to shorts now. Love the fit and quality. As soon as you put them on, you realize they aren't your standard shorts. The leg cuffs are great, I wish every pair of my shorts had those instead of the standard silicone grippers. Also, appreciate the compressive feel that the fabric provides. My only negative is that the front panel is a bit low to my liking. The chamois is great, no complaints there.

All Italian made. Not Albania, or Yugoslavia or some other place that other brands will sneak in.......Assos, Capo, etc. These bibs are expensive but definitely worth it. Paying full price is still a great deal, but when they go on sale it is like a Festivus miracle. I have six pairs of these bibs in various iterations.........Trade....Forte, three pair both colors, Trade....Solid black, Regular FRC that are 50 bucks more, and a limited edition FRC bib that Bicycling magazine put out this year. Straps are perfect. The amestia fabric used around your waist and stomach is fantastic and really holds everything in. The Zaffiro anti abrasion material in the crotch and inside thighs is very durable, comfortable, and totally abrasion resistant. The leg compression is strong but perfect, and the Cirro omni-form chamois is the best I have ever used, and try my hardest to wear no other. I work at an Assos dealer, and I think the COF is much much better. the edge transition is much smoother, and Assos hasn't got the whole Golden Gate thing right yet. No fade, No loose threads, nothing. Durability over more than two hard seasons might be a stretch, but I'm ok with that. Pick these up at any cost. You won't be disappointed.

Great fit and finish. Love it.

I have gotten tired of mismatched kit at least as to bib shorts and jersey when I am spending a nice sum of money on higher end kit. I recently bought a Lungo jersey from Giordana (have prior purchases too) and simply love the fit, finish, performance and design of it (the five pockets with sixth pocket phone slit rocks). I wanted to get a pair of bib shorts to match brands. I tried the Sahara first and it was for me personally, a disaster even in XXL. So after looking at the Giordana shorts line up this was my shot at finding something that would work well for me. I rode in them today and while it was only 30 miles (was raining from the start so I cut the ride short), I loved the way these shorts fit me from the first mile. This short pretty much disappeared while riding and that is the best compliment I can think to say. The details and finish are very much in line for the price you are paying and in my subjective opinion look very high end. Most folks want to know about the fit relative to the size of the reviewer to help judge what to buy size wise. I am 6 feet, 205 lbs. but no Andre Greipel quads or Nicky Minaj butt. I wear a 36 waist Gap jean in "trim" and am about to go to a 34 because it is starting to feel loose. Knowing Giordana is typically a buy a size up brand, I bought an XL. Perfect. I love this short enough that I bought another pair tonight.
