Flattering fashion for frozen rides.

The combination of performance, style and value make the Giordana Silverline Women's Jacket an easy choice for winter riding. Made from multiple types of fabric, the Silverline Jacket offers great protection from cold, wind and rain, and it offers the same great fit as other Giordana products.

The body of the jacket is comprised primarily from durable Corsa fabric. This three-layer fabric uses a soft fleece interior for comfort next to the body. An inner layer of WindTex fabric protects from wind and water yet allows water vapor to move away from the body to prevent overheating. A smooth outermost layer also offers wind protection and resists snags and pulls. Soft, stretchy Super Roubaix fabric is used in the underarm and side panels. The stretch from this insulating fabric allows the jacket to be worn close to the body and still provide unrestricted movement. The resulting fit is loose enough for layering over winter jerseys or base layers, but it's never baggy.

Like the Giordana Silverline Jersey, the Silverline Jacket uses printed arm details to create a visual statement. Reflective logos on the front and rear, as well as reflective piping along the three back pockets provide visibility on the road. The neckline is slightly higher than that of the Silverline jersey to block out drafts and a drop-tail hem provides full coverage.

The Giordana Silverline Women's Jacket is available in Black, Purple, and Red in sizes X-Small to X-Large.

  • Corsa three-layer fabric at the front, back, and arms uses a WindTex membrane to fight piercing gusts and an inner pile for softness against your skin
  • Super Roubaix material at the side panels, rear insert, and underarms uses brushed fleece for insulation
  • Full-zip front has an inner flap that blocks the elements
  • Silicone gripper on the inside of the waist elastic keeps the jacket in place while you ride
  • Super Roubaix cuffs for comfort

Good pick for cold rides

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've had this jacket for two years now, so I've got some time on it. I usually grab it on days which are below 45. I like to layer, and this jacket layers well. Usually my Gore sleeveless plus my Craft long sleeve under garments do the trick on the coldest days. We get more wind than cold, so the Gore helps augment the wind stopping silver line. My rides are usually mild or hot or cold and many times windy here in Boulder, and I don't usually find myself riding in rain unless it is Spring or sometimes Fall--times when I feel are not cold enough to select this jacket. So, I can't comment on waterproofing. It does handle snow fine, though, and road spray doesn't seep through. It feels a little stiff and thick when I take it off the hanger, but feels fine and reassuring when clipping in for a cold ride.

Responded on

This jacket, unfortunately is not water/rain proof, and only slightly water-resistant. Gore's is still the best in that dept. You never know when a cloudy sky might just 'let-loose', so I usually bring along the Gore ALP-X 2.0 jacket if keep rolled up tightly in the outside pouch of my hydration pack...it's only a shell, so weighs almost nothing.

Silverline is nice....but if you decide you need something more, the next best step is Giordana's F.R.C. line up...a world of difference (and size-up).

Happy Trails & Miles to You in 2014...!

I checked on the Giordana site, and at least for the 2013 line, they say they are bonded some way so that they are water resistant (www.giordana.com/en). You could carry a Gore shell like the ALP-X 2.0 in your pocket/pack for those ify' rides to slip on over top of your winter jacket; it IS waterproof.
The FR-C is a better jacket offering more warmth, wind/water resistance, and superior form/fit/function. But, resistance is just that. In a downpour, you will still get drenched, so "resistance is futile"!
That's where Gore's ALP-X 2.0 jackets come in...you can layer or use alone. Super light weight. I have both the FR-C & the ALP-X 2.0 (which I always pack), JUST-IN-CASE! Incidentally, this Gore jacket has been awarded, check it out on Gore's site: www.goreapparel.com
Hope This Helps.
