Item # GIO0170

We think of the Giordana Silverline Bib Shorts as a budget-minded version of Giordana's Laser Bibs. In fact they use nearly the identical chamois as the Laser, Giordana's 3D-OF chamois. It's a lightweight, elastic, seamless, one-piece insert. It has no hard edges or stiffness, and the design and placement of padded areas are based on anatomical research to address the needs of male cyclists.

The central difference between the Silverline and the Laser is the material of the shorts themselves. The Laser uses the highly elastic Moovix material, while the Silverline uses Moxie material. Moxie is a Dupont-certified "Power" fabric, and it's not unlike Moovix in that it has a high rate of compression. Moxie's elasticity micro-massages your leg muscles, effectively postponing fatigue. Moxie has perhaps a bit less softness and pliability than Moovix, but it's close enough that it has loads of value considering the cost difference from the Laser.

The Giordana Silverline Bib Shorts are available in sizes Small through XX-Large and in multiple colors. Please see the dropdown menu for availability.

Good stuff!

So far I've logged a lot of time on the trainer with these bibs and I no longer dread the discomfort of the 4-5 hours in the saddle going nowhere! Comfortable, well fitting, and quick drying. I'm 5'11", 165, and am happy I went with the large.

I'm 6'2", 175lbs, 31" waist, 42" chest, 33" inseam. In american sizing I am a medium. I ordered size LARGE and it fits perfectly. Bib feels good, chamois is comfortable. There are no leg grippers, which I was concerned about, but the shorts hold in place fine. Very happy with this purchase. Customer service, as always, very good.

Good Bib

This is a good bib short. The pad is good and placed pretty dead on. These shorts do run a little small. I generally go with a large on Giordana products and I did not go up a size with these bibs. I actually like the compression these shorts provide. My only dislike is the placement of the seem on the front of the short. You would think they would figure out a way to make this a bit smoother on the skin. But over all a great product for the money.

Good Bib

As long as you go up a size like previous reviewers have said, then this short is awesome. As soon as I got it today I took it out for a 15 mile ride and it made a huge difference in my stamina even in a 10+ mile headwind. You barely notice the straps on your shoulders at all.

Snug fit

I have had Silverline bibs in past years, probably my last pair was purchased in 2008 or 2009. I always wear a Large in Giordana in Forma FR-C, Laser, and Silverline and usually Silverline is the biggest fit. But to my surprise this edition of the Silverline is a much tighter fit. So much that they are going to have to be returned.

Gave them 4 stars because they are good shorts for the $$ but the fit is way off previous Giordana sizing.

Good Deal, wierd chamois placement

Fabric and leg grippers were nice, but chamois could have been placed a little further forward. The seam was a little irritating if you know what I mean. At 5'10" and 165 the large fit nicely. Good deal on sale if the chamois placement works for you.

Satisfied All Around

Just ordered these bibs last week. Realcyclist promised they'd arrive within 7-14 days, with no charge shipping. Got them in under a week. Great service.

The Bibs? Found them to be just the right size for what I ordered and expected. Good quality and comfortable. Would I recommend them and Realcyclist? Yes on both on counts!

Size Up

Would have given a better rating if the sizing was more accurate. Quality is great and really like the chamois. The biggest problem area is with the overall all length of bibs. I'm 5'9, 155lbs and I can barely get the bib straps over my shoulders. I ordered a medium but should have went with a large.

Responded on

I bought a pair of Giordana's high end FR-C bibs and I am the exact same height/weight 5'9" and 155lbs and I also could barely get the bib straps over my shoulders. There was no way I was going to ride with those things that tight, so I sent back and am waiting on my size Large to get here. I'll post an update when I get them.

Responded on

I am the same size as you and have always worn Large in these specific shorts. I have worn Silverline bibs for 4 styles now and have always had to size up to a Large because of the shoulder issue. These silverlines fit the tightest of all so far, but that is because they are compression shorts.

Go one size larger on these

Bought these two weeks ago and while a size large in Giordana's other bibs fit just fine, these are super tight. Granted, that's the goal--they're compression fabric shorts--but man, they don't feel right when you first put them on. I get used to them after 10 minutes of riding, but be prepared, you may not like it.
