Description

When Giordana went through the process of redesigning the Laser Bib Shorts they took a serious look at preconceived notions of panel design and put them through a design study. Rather than comprise the shorts out of the typical long vertical panels, with the Laser bibs they went with paneling that is more horizontal in orientation. These allow the leg to move without pulling the shorts up, or creating a need for harsh, cutting grippers at the ends.

With the Laser, you'll be sitting on Giordana's T-Select Omni-Form one-piece chamois. It's stretchy, which means it conforms to your body's shape, yet the bottom layer is firm, as it is made of closed-cell foam. The bib straps are comprised of mesh on the backside and Moovix fabric in front. There is an iPocket for whatever fits best in there; some put keys, some money, others electronic devices.

The Giordana Laser Bib Shorts are available in five sizes from Small to XX-Large and in a variety of colors. Please see the dropdown menu for availability.

Best Bids I have come accross yet!

These bibs are my favorite for riding! I have used many others and they all fail over time:( The Giordana Laser bids have held up for the 2000 miles of riding i have done in them so far and I plan on doing another 4000 to make my 10,000 miles goal for the year. I have worn these in time trials, aggressive group rides, and 100+ mile rides. They always pull trough as the most comfortable all around compared to all the other brands I have worn to date. They don't loosen up after all the abuse, the stitching has held up amazing, and the decals don't fall off after 200 miles of use like some others out there. Highly recommended!!!

Best Bibs I have Worn

I have over 15 pair of bib shorts of all brands, and the Giordana shorts are my favorties, and the Laser is the best of the Silverline and Tanax. The fit is excellent and the pad is not too big like some other brands. When I go on long rides of 50 miles or more, I always pull out the Laser's.

Price/performance better than carbon

These are the best bibs made, I have tried them all, Forma Red, Santini, Rapha. Even though they are cheaper price wise than the forma they are more comfortable after 50 miles than all of them, even Assos, for the price they can't be beat period. TD

Pretty sweet

These are pretty slick bibs. They have worked great for me. Only gripe is that on the side of the legs, there are some air vents/holes that left me with big waffle sunburns after an all day ride. Make sure you put sunscreen on under the shorts right there.

Are these cut shorter in the legs like Castelli Free bibs or pro cuts? I've previously found some Giordana's come down too far on my legs.

James, When in doubt with Italian apparel products, SIZE UP at least one size, some find sizing up 2 sizes for Italian jerseys is ideal.

I'm getting some conflicting info on returns here. In the return policy it states 30 day unconditional guarentee and here you're saying unconditional guarentee without time limit. Can you clarify. Just had some Giordana Forma Red Bib shorts start to come apart at the stitching on the edge of the chamois. They are about 5 or 6 months old. Could I have returned them? Didn't think they would be eligable for return cuz i've had them for several months. Took them to a local seamstress to get repaired. I would imagine this voids any guarentee. Let me know.

Don. The supplier backs these up if it is a supplier defect. Contact realcyclist.com for more information about supplier defects vs. the 30 day return policy.

loved em, but....

I loved these bibs- they were comfy, did the job and then....... the stitching started coming out in the crotch and the chamois started separating from the shorts. No good-- had to go back.

I've had the same problem with other shorts. But I found out that it wasn't' the shorts in the end when I switched saddles.

Maybe your saddle is turned to one side, the tilt of it is rubbing hard in one spot, too wide of a saddle rubbing, or your washing was too harsh on them?

Just a suggestion, all in all you may have just had bad luck with a good pair of shorts. Happy riding!

Responded on

Had the same problem with my lasers. Got maybe 15 rides out of them before chamois stitching started unraveling badly. It is not my saddle because I alternate the lasers with the cheaper silverlines which I bought at the same time and they have no problems whatsoever with the chamois. Neither do the Pearl izumis or LGs that I've ridden 3 times as much. Wrote to giordana asking what the deal was and never heard back.

Best Bib I have used so far

I bought these a few months ago and can attest to their durability. I wear them twice a week in my rotation of bib shorts and they have held up great. The stitching, like any other Giordana bib short, is top notch and I do not have any loose threads like on all of my other brands. I disagree with the other reviewer's comments on the chamois. I think it is great. It is thick enough for my 60 mile rides, but not so thick that I feel like I am carrying a couch cushion behind me. The fabric also provides some nice compression without being too tight on your personal bits. All in all I would recommend them to anyone willing to spend a bit more for a high quality bib short.

Great Fit, Bad Chamois

These shorts have a great design, great fit, and great fabric. I thought that the Chamois was under par compared to the rest of this short. I took them out on several rides but it didn't seem to improve with each ride. It felt like this Chamois was a piece of cardboard wrapped in fabric. Bib shorts are the only way to go . . . but make sure the Chamois is high quality - on these, they weren't. Real cyclist has a great return policy though.

Great Bib Shorts!

There is no comparison between shorts and bibs. Bibs are much more comfortable. Second, the Laser has an excellent fit and pad. This just means one less thing to worry about on a long ride. For sizing, go up at least 1 size.
