What community has to say
Semi-slick race tire.
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
The Mezcal is a semi-slick secret weapon. The Cross-Country 29x2.1 weighs in at a competitive 580 grams with the TNT version adding some additional weight (and protection). I've had some time to test the Mezcal Cross-Country 29"x2.1 and it's a great tire to have in your race tool kit, although it's not the best option for everyday riding (try the AKA or Saguaro instead). I'd select this tire for dry, hardpack conditions only. Due to it's semi-slick tread, you're going to have noticeably less traction while climbing up steep pitches and while braking. The aggressive side knobs help maintain cornering performance and the 2.1 size gives you some generous air volume.
Good tire but not what I ordered!
XC casing my ass. These are TnT casings at about 100 grams +. WTF. ???
These are TNT
These are the TNT (tubeless) version of the Mezcal.
