An extra club in your bag.
Head into your next round at the links fully prepared with Garmin's new Approach S4. As a touchscreen GPS golf watch with a sunlight-readable, high-resolution display, the Approach provides you with the crucial data and course layout features necessary to make the best club selection for the shot at hand.
The lightweight Approach S4 is preloaded with more than 30,000 international courses, and it displays yardages to the front, middle, and back of the greens on a glove-friendly touchscreen. The Approach also lets you manually position pins, get distances to doglegs and layups, customize yardage points (think bunkers and water hazards), as well as print digital scorecards.
And with a dedicated Green View button, the Approach takes you to the Green View screen quickly, without having to scroll through a menu. From here, you get a full view of the green's shape, even when your view from the fairway happens to be obstructed. Use the touchscreen to manually move the pin to the day's location, giving you an accurate yardage to exact zones on the green.
The Approach S4 also doubles as a sleek watch loaded with everyday features. In addition to the course-specific functions, the Garmin also acts as an extension of the iPhone, conveniently displaying texts, emails, and RSS alerts right on your wrist.

Looks great and saves me strokes
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
First off, great looking watch. I wear this as my normal watch even when I'm not playing. At first I thought that a watch would be cumbersome to play golf with but within minutes I didn't even notice I had it on. The touchscreen is very responsive and easy to see even on the sunniest days. I've used this on several courses and the distances are always spot on with markers laid out on the course. I would say that just knowing exact distances to the pin has saved me at least 4 strokes a round since I picked this baby up! Would highly recommend to anyone whether they are novice or a scratch golfer!
