BMC TIME MACHINE TT02

At a glance, the BMC Time Machine TT02 looks no different from its far more expensive counterpart, the Time Machine TT01 -- the custom wunderframe reserved for the top-tier pros of Team BMC. In fact, the first time you see it you probably will think it's a TT01. The similarities are indeed that strong. But by comparison, the TT02 comes in stock geometry, and it incorporates a mix of aluminum and carbon to keep the price in check. The technical and aesthetic resonances between the bikes are so intense, though, that even if price is no object, it's hard to overlook the TT02.

The top tube and down tube of the TT02 are made out of meticulously shaped, triple butted aluminum tubing, and BMC forms them into their wind-cheating profiles. You'll note how tall the top tube is near the head tube -- giving it excellent aerodynamics and loads of resistance to torsional flex as you big ring it down the road. The down tube has an airfoil shape to further optimize aerodynamics. These tubes have internal cable routing to add extra invisibility to the wind.

The skinny-yet-massive seat tube is made from carbon and it's built with a cut-out to offer a fairing-like effect for your rear wheel that indeed looks straight off the TT01. By combining the carbon seat tube with a carbon seatstay, you get an ideal balance of lightness and resistance to lateral flex. The integrated multi-position carbon seatpost that comes standard with the frame seamlessly inserts into the seat tube, offering an added aero advantage.

The BMC Time Machine TT02 is available in four sizes -- Small, Medium, Large, and X-Large. It comes standard with Easton's EC90 Aero full carbon fork. It also comes standard with an FSA integrated headset.
