YETI CYCLES SB-95 ENDURO COMPLETE BIKE

When it comes to trail riding, 29ers are quickly becoming the norm. And by working well-beyond contemporary design, it's no surprise that the Yeti SB-95 Enduro Complete Bike is leading the way. While the advantages of twenty-nine inch wheels are nothing new, disadvantages, when packaged into a full-suspension platform, still exist. Luckily, Yeti has broken the code and shatter the mold with its new SB-95.

Ultra-long wheelbases have plagued full-suspension 29ers since their inception, resulting in lethargic handling on technical trails. However, with a direct-mount front derailleur and Yeti’s compact Switch Technology eccentric suspension, Yeti was able to tuck the large rear wheel as far as possible under the rider, while keeping the chain stays short. The end result is a long-travel 29er chassis that handles with surprising ease and eagerness.

Unlike multi-link suspension designs that require linkages packed in between the main triangle and rear triangle, Yeti’s Switch Technology features an eccentric mechanism buried low in the frame -- requiring a minimal chain stay length. This compact eccentric continuously adjusts the lower pivot position, allowing for a rearward, small-bump damping axle path. All the while, the system maintains a firm, pedal-friendly platform. When you start to blow through the travel, the eccentric rotates in the opposite direction for a responsive midstroke. And finally, you get to the end position where the suspension becomes progressively stiffer for big hit absorption. Switch Technology is also tuned to be independent of chain forces, preventing any kickback when spinning through rock gardens.

Switch Technology not only features perfected pivot and rear-axle motion, it also rides on oversized pivots, pins, and axles to ensure precise, friction-free movement with long maintenance intervals. Controlling the suspension movement is the lauded Fox Float with the new CDT dampening. Matched up to it is a 120mm 34 Float with CTD as well. This ensures a simple user interface and easy tuning. CTD offers three pre-tuned compression dampening options for climbing, trail, and descending.

The Yeti SB-95 Enduro Complete Bike rolls on a Mavic Crossride Wheelset wrapped in Maxxis tires. Drivetrain duty is covered by SRAM's workhorse X7 and X9 components. Up front is a X7 derailleur and S1000 crankset with 22/32/44 tooth gearing. Out back is an X9 derailleur and a 11-36T SRAM cassette. Avid Elixir 5 brakes keep speed in check, while an alloy Truvativ T20 stem, seatpost, and handlebar occupy the cockpit.

The Yeti SB-95 Enduro Complete Bike is available in four sizes from Small to X-Large and in the colors Black, Grey, and Turquoise.

Please note that US Yeti dealers are prohibited from shipping Yeti bicycles to any country other than Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
