FOX Racing Shox 32 FLOAT 29 100 FIT RLC Fork - 2012 $0.00
A pillow for your 29er. 32
Long live big wheels! When Fox unveiled its F29 a few years ago, the 29er world rejoiced to have another great fork option. These days, the Fox 32 Float 29 100 FIT RLC Fork is even better with a few new details that complement its uber-plush FIT damper and amazing RLC tuneability.
Firstly, you'll notice the golden colored hue of the Kashima Coat on the upper tubes. This coating starts with the raw aluminum stanchions and adds molybdenum disulfide via an induction process that deposits the material into pores in the surface to the effect of 70 billion pores per cm². The MoS₂ adds lubricity, extending the life of the tubes as well as greatly reducing friction. Fox tuned the air spring for this year so that the Float 29 can be run at slightly lower pressures. It ...100mm of buttery smooth Kashima Coated, FIT damped travel. Perfect for a big-wheeled race bike... now yields a more linear feel, giving you a sensation of buttery smooth small bump response and access to the full range of travel yet you'll still get no harsh bottoming. Along with the Kashima Coat, it'll make the Float 29 even more comfortable over chattery trails.
The FIT cartridge damper improved upon their already legendary feel by sealing the fluid inside a bladder to eliminate the chance of fluid aeration and subsequent variations in the damping properties. And, because it uses less fluid, it shaves considerable weight from the Fox Float 29 Forks. A rubber bladder in the damper assembly minimizes friction, allows for internal fluid volume changes, and works to maintain suspension consistency when you're really giving it a workout. With the FIT damper, the rebound adjustment on the fork moves to the bottom of the right fork leg, making it less prone to accidental adjustments. It also includes a lockout lever and a lockout force adjust knob atop the right fork leg, allowing you to control the desired amount of blowoff when locked out. The wide range of adjustment for the compression and rebound settings make this fork highly tunable for a wide variety of terrain and riding styles.
The lower legs are quad-tapered to lean them out where there's room to shave weight, and at the very bottom are lightweight post-mounts for your disc brake. To make installation easy and for a clean look, there's an integrated brake hose guide on the fork arch. And for those who ride with long-fingered gloves, you'll be glad to know that the redesigned lockout lever is easier to use than ever.
The Fox 32 Float 29 100 FIT RLC Fork has powdercoated White legs and crown. It has 100mm (3.9") of travel and is available with two steerer options -- 1.5" tapered or 1-1/8" straight. At the bottom of the legs, the 15QR thru-axle system is noticeably stiffer and yields greater tracking and steering precision through rough terrain than a traditional quick release. In fact, the added shear stiffness of the 15QR improves the fork's bump eating performance because the fork legs just cannot move independently.
US Fox dealers are prohibited from shipping Fox Forks outside the US.
- -FIT damper technology separates air and oil for consistent dampening in all conditions
- -15QR axle increases front-end stiffness for steering precision
- -Kashima-coated stanchions provides smooth action out of the box, and boost durability

The fork is built around the amazing Santa Cruz Highball Carbon HT frameset, a perfect match (I have also had it on the Stumpjumper S-Works HT). The Kashima coated aluminum really resists dirt and keeps the fork stantions operation clean and smooth. I have had the opportunity to put this fork through four 100 mile NUE races so far this season. The terrain has ranged from back east roots and peidmont rock formation of the Appalachian Mountains to the embedded baby heads of the high country in Colorado to smooth volcanic pumice of the High Cascades. No matter where I put myself this fork has performed. Tuning and adjustment for the compression (rebound)and lockout force (progression) of the fork is on top of the stantions and accessible, making setup of the fork for different terrain easy. I am sold on the 15mm through axle setup due to its ability to be driven into corners at high speed without tracking compromise. (there is no wgt penalty for the 15mm thru). The air spring setup is just as easy, and I have been finding that using a ratio of about 50% of my body weight in psi has been magic pressure.
Printed weights vs. the Reba Rock Shox shows this fork a fraction heavier (0.1lbs) but the handling does not compare. Unless you weigh 135 lbs and under, the Fox is a no brainer choice for your setup.
Overall this fork is typical of the work FOX puts on the table for us riders, dialed.
