Gel comfort.

Feature-packed gloves, like Fox Racing's Reflex Gel, are made with the sole purpose of providing comfort and long-ride durability. And while the gloves are perfectly capable for all-day adventures or 24hr racing, you don't have to be a freak of nature to appreciate the added comfort and fatigue reduction of the Reflex Gel's strategic, low-profile padding.

It's no secret that gel is a bike-path enthusiast's cushion of choice, and mountain bikers will typically shy away due to its ability to lose feedback and input to dampening. The Reflex's gel pads, on the other hand, are slim enough to avoid a disjointed connection. There are four gel pads that are positioned to promote bloodflow and evenly distribute pressure throughout the palm.

This also directs pressure away from the nerves to avoid numbing and arm pump. And, when combined with the double-layer Clarino palm, the result is a balance of grip, durability, and comfort that's ideal for the established rider. Hook-and-loop straps ensure the Reflex Gels are securely positioned, and index and middle fingertips feature embossed silicone for positive engagement with shifters and brake levers.

The Fox Racing Reflex Gel Gloves - Men's are available in sizes Small to XX-Large and come in the colors Black, Blue, Black/blue, Fatigue Green, and White.

Good glove for moderate use

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

Super breathable, gel is just enough, very comfortable glove!

He was stoked.

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Bought these as a gift, and he was stoked. Fit is right on. Gel is just enough and mesh is ultra breathable. Velcro around the cuff helps get a snug fit and good dexterity too.

Decent summer MTB glove

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I've been experimenting with different gloves as I get into mountain biking, and this was the first pair I tried. I've also tried the POC Index DH (which I liked less) and the Giro Remedy X (which I liked more).

What I like:
*they breath extremely well
*good selection of colors
*wrist is non-intrusive

What I don't like:
*the gel across the palm doesn't really do any good
*the gel across the base of the hand is better than nothing, but doesn't go far enough around the outside and down to the wrist to provide serious impact protection. I had one good crash on a hairpin and bruised my hand pretty hard through the gel.
*the dotted texture on the fingertips comes off easily, and doesn't work on smartphone screens.
*initially the fit was quite true to size, but they seem to have stretched out to be just a hair looser than I'd like.

I like these gloves.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I like these gloves as much as any I've used. I wish they still made them like the old Pearl Izumi bombers, but they don't, so this is a good substitute. The gel in the hands is really thin but enough to absorb some vibes when I'm on my hardtail, and the gloves vent like they're not there, which is great in the summer. Overall I highly recommend - I tried all the gel gloves at Backcountry and these were the best.
