Ride hard and look good doing it.

When it comes to quality off-road apparel, the folks at Fox Racing are leading the way. At Fox, the recipe tends to be equal parts innovation and style, so almost everything that it makes feels good on a bike and looks fresh at the pub post-ride. Take the Ranger Shorts, for example. Stretch fabric and a removable chamois liner keep you cool, dry, and free to move around for hours in the saddle. When the ride is over, the simple, timeless solid color and stylish longer cut take over. If you're going to be out on the town, just ditch the liner and head out.

Don't let the subtle styling fool you — the Ranger shorts are well-equipped. A quick-dry polyester construction ensures cool and dry comfort, even on all-day epics. Meanwhile, two-way stretch eliminates binding for an unlimited range of motion. The removable liner makes the Ranger as comfortable as spandex tights, but a little more public-friendly. The other real benefit of the removable liner is that you're able to use it with your other shorts or with softshell baggie pants for winter riding. In a way, that makes the Ranger one of the most versatile shorts on the market.

The Fox Racing Ranger Shorts are vailable in even sizes from 28 to 44 and in the colors Black, Dark Khaki, and Orange.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small

Great shorts, tough durable fabric. I usually wear a 34 but due to multiple reviews I purchased a size up (36). I'm glad I did, otherwise the shorts would have been very tight. The removable chamois could fit a little more snug. So I would say the chamois is true to size but the outer shorts run a little small. overall I'm pretty pleased with these. Looking to find a pair in Black.

Sizing was accurate for me

I wear a 36 and ordered and received a 38 and it was too big. Easy exchange for a 36. Outer shell is lighter for warmer weather but I'll still be using it in 40F and up with shin guards.

Live in these things

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I got the orange for mountain biking. I've used them more in everyday life. They're comfortable, wear well, hide odor, and wick moisture. Couldn't say anything better about them. Would recommend them. They run true to size. The removable shammy is thin, but no big deal. Really like that it's removable.

Best Shorts On The Trail

I don't have much to compare them to, but wow, I found what I've been searching for in a pair of MTB Shorts. I'm not the type who likes long shorts and these fit perfect! I am a 34 waist but I bought a 36. The chamois seems to have a good feel to it- not too bulky. Light weight material helps a ton to keep you cool. The belt loops are a nice plus, I like the bottom snaps in the front- they don't scratch like velcro.

I will be buying a second pair for sure!

Great combo shorts

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I wear these on longer rides when I need the chamois to keep my bum from aching. I also wear them hiking etc. without the chamois and they perform great for that use as well. I am usually a 31 inch waist and I have the 32 in these and they fit great.

I've been looking for some tough, yet light weight and comfortable shorts. These fit awesome, they are loose which is exactly what I wanted. My wife even likes the way they look if I just wear them out and about. Very breathable and good looking. Can't go wrong! Also could be worn as swim shorts.

Like a lot

Very nice light fabric and a worthy chamois that looks like it will last. I usually wear a 34 and recommend a size larger. The velcro adjustment only works to make the waist smaller. Bought an orange after the black to have two.

I typically wear a 33 but had to go with a 34 with these shorts. They have velcro around the waist so you can customize the fit, so it worked out good. The shorts are cool and casual, so you can wear them in the summer without the chamois.

Love These Shorts

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These shorts are great. They are breathable, durable, fit true to size and are pretty light weight. They come with a chamois that is good not great but definitely wearable. Sometimes I use these shorts as a bathing suit too, if a long ride ends near a body of water. They look like normal shorts so I can always walk into a store to get some icecream too.
