Description

The folks at Fox Racing were riding long before they were designing gear, and that's why they know what works on a bike. It's immediately apparent when you put on one of Fox's pieces of apparel. The Ranger Cargo 10in Shorts, with their removable chamois liner and secure zippered pockets, are a perfect example of what's possible with clothing when it's made by the dedicated, and not people who're just out to make a quick buck.

Don't let the subtle styling fool you — the Ranger shorts are well-equipped. A quick-dry polyester construction ensures cool and dry comfort, even on all-day epics. Meanwhile, two-way stretch eliminates binding for an unlimited range of motion. The removable liner makes the Ranger as comfortable as spandex tights, but a little more public-friendly. The other real benefit of the removable liner is that you're able to use it with your other shorts or with softshell baggie pants for winter riding. In a way, that makes the Rangers some of the most versatile shorts on the market.

The Ranger Cargo Shorts are also loaded with pocket space. One of the large thigh pockets is zippered, so you won't lose your keys or whatever else you can't afford to drop. A specialized media pocket with audio interface takes care of your MP3 player, and a large thigh cargo pocket with a hook-and-loop flap adds more valuable storage.

The Fox Racing Ranger Cargo 10in Shorts - Men's are available in the colors Black, Dark Khaki, Charcoal, and Orange, and in even sizes from 28 to 40.

Nice Overshorts

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Size 30 fits my 29 inch waist well, with two velcro adjusters inside the waistband. 10in. inseam fall just above the knee. Nice lightweight material and usable pockets. I'm used to wearing road shorts and bibs and my initial impression of the liner was not good. Wore them once and they weren't that bad but they don't really fit me well.

Perfect Fit, Didn't Rip

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm all o f 5'7" and a 30 waist. I had been searching for MTB shorts that weren't too long or awkwardly too short. I was having a problem with a few other brands that I had tried on at a local shop or two. It wasn't until I ran across these shorts that I discovered the PERFECT FIT. Not too long, not too short, just MMM...MMM Good.

I've had these shorts now going on 2 years, put them through the wash uncountable times and have had no issues with color fading or wear in the fabric.

I can't count how many spills I've had while wearing these shorts. To date, not a single tear or rip. I have had other shorts rip by hitting a branch or going OTB and catching on my light, but not the Fox Ranger shorts.

PROS:
+ Great Fitment, Thanks Fox designers!
+ No color fading
+ No wear in fabric after two years
+ No tearing after countless crashes

CONS
- None

Tips:
+ Machine wash cold and let air dry to help keep the color lasting
