Decent pad but they move in big crashes

I've used these pads for 2 DH seasons now and had several crashes on them. The pros of these pads is that they're comfortable and offer good protection when they stay in place. Unfortunately for me, they only stayed in place 50% of the time on larger crashes. I believe the issue is in the retention system that simply doesn't tighten as much as other systems on the market. The picture is what my elbow looked like after a hard crash while wearing these pads.

    Right size, FOX quality

I was concerned about the bulk, but this item is just the right size. I'm 6'0, 165lbs and went with the S/M and it fits perfect. I couldn't be happier. I was almost driven towards the G FOrm padding, but I don't think the thin material can take the beating- FOX is tested and proven!

      Elbow Pads

The pad protect great, but slides down on me while I am riding. I think I need to get bigger biceps.

        Good protection

Provides good elbow protection. Forearm protection is also pretty decent. I have fairly long arms and it covers almost up to my wrist (close to my body armour suit).

My arms are also somewhat slim which makes elbow and forearm armour a challenge; they always tend to slide down my arm. These don't do that and I don't have to tighten them down so tight to where I'm losing feeling in my fingers!

They breathe OK and they're thin enough to where they fit under my jersey (long, short and 3/4 sleeve). I'll sometimes wear these when I'm riding a really technical XC trail.

The only negative would be for those who have slightly wider arms. It could be too tight of a fit.

          Good protection

          Sizing

At 6'0'' and 155 lbs the S/M fit perfectly. For the full shin/leg armor I have to use the L/XL however....

            Fox Elbow Guards

I am 6'2" and 195lbs. These fit great but are tight on my "guns". They do work great and don't shift so I guess being a bit restrictive is OK compared to them falling off. I recommend themm.

              nice pads

Comfortable with a fairly low profile. Easy to ride with. Seem to have pretty good coverage.

                Nice guards

Sleek elbows that stay put. Once the ride begins I forget they're on. No impacts yet but security is there. On rocks these are great! Highly reccomend

                  Stay in place; fairly comfortable

I haven't crash-tested them yet, but these elbow pads stay in place and aren't uncomfortable at all. They fit just fine under a 3/4 sleeve Endura Burner jersey. They're light, so if I were a dedicated gravity rider I might look for something heavier, but for trail riding they're exactly what I was looking for. To be fair, these are my 1st pair of hard pads- I have 661 Evos that never stay put, and don't really give much of a feeling of confidence.

Hardly notice you are wearing them

This is the same thing I wrote about the Launch Knee/Shin guards - these are great pads for XC riding. When you first put them on, you may think they will be a bit restrictive, but once you start riding, you completely forget you have them on. They do not slide around at all. I bought these in part because I thought they would be cooler then my old pads and after riding in 90+ degree weather a couple of times, I can say they are definitely cooler than my old pads.

                      Good protection

These will protect your elbows and arms. They are very strong, and a little stiff on the elbow. The Velcro strap can be adjusted for better fit, but I would recommend adding an extra Velcro to make it fit better. Great Fox product all around, even if you don't adjust the strap there is a "sack" that wraps around your elbow.

                        55

                        Snowboard protection

I am a beginner snowboarder and have very scrawny arms, so every time I would fall on my butt, I'd land on my hands and all my weight would fall on my frontside elbow, causing it to hyper-extend and I'd be in terrible pain for at least a week at a time. I knew that regular snowboard pads would not provide the protection I was looking for. I needed something that would not allow my elbow to bend backward when I'd fall, while fitting under my jacket. I was afraid of literally breaking my arms. These guards have been my savior. They've given me the confidence to progress exponentially because I am not riding scared. I have fallen, but my elbows certainly do not take the brunt of my weight. I would recommend these to anyone who is serious about elbow protection in whatever sport. I even forget I have them on half the time.

                          Fox Launch Elbow Guard

                            Awesome,
Breathes easy, does not get hot when riding.. I purchased these based off of the positive reviews from others.

                              Love them

I have used these elbow guards a few times and I always forget they are on! I have hit a few trees with them and I don't feel anything! I have the S/M, I am a tall female 6'0 with super skinny arms and they feel lose at first but have the straps that help to tighten the guard and at the same time slip right under my long sleeve jersey. They are super lightweight and durable. My boyfriend has TLD guards and recommends his, but states that mine "look really cool and is a bit jealous"!

                                guards are good

The guards do their job without calling attention to themselves. I am 6'6'' 230, and used to things not fitting. The L/XL slipped on like the glass slipper going on Cinderella's foot. And no fiddling with straps or fittings.... They just slide on and I smooth down one velcro strip and go.

Can anyone comment on sizing? I am 6'...

Can anyone comment on sizing? I am 6' tall 170lb so longish but thin arms - appreciate any help.

I am 5'7" 142 lbs with also thin arms. They fit well, you can adjust the Velcro strap however you want. I would recommend the S/M, they are big enough. They are pretty comfortable but a little stiff at the beginning. The fit is almost right, I may have to add extra Velcro on one side so I have the option to tighten it better.

                                  Save your arms!

These are extremely comfortable to wear and give that added level of confidence when riding in rocky terrain. I haven't had to test them in an actual crash yet. But they feel like they will protect me well when I eventually wreck. They stay in place while riding. I forget I have them on. I highly recommend them!
