Description

Worship the goddess within

Vesta was a virgin goddess worshipped in Ancient Rome. And, much like its namesake you'll worship the Fi'zi:k Vesta saddle -- designed with input from female riders, it provides support for your sit bones and relief for your soft tissue. Its shape allows multiple riders, from the enthusiast to the professional, to spend hours and hours in the saddle in complete comfort.

The Vesta features a pressure relief channel along the length of the saddle so that when you're rolled forward, to maximize power from your hamstrings or to get as low as possible to minimize wind resistance, your soft tissue is supported. This allows you to focus on pedaling and not on the pain frequently associated with tissue being pinched against ill-fitting saddles. Additionally, because women frequently have 'thicker' thighs, often rubbing against the sides of the saddle, the Vesta's paddle cuts inward so that legs glide right past the saddle. This allows for more direct force to the pedals and minimizes pinching and chafing. The thigh glides are sewn from a Glossy microtex, which alleviates wear and tear on both your expensive cycling shorts as well as the saddle.

Constructed from nylon reinforced carbon, the shell of the Vesta provides a stiff layer upon which to place padding to support the sit bones. And while the Vesta features more padding than the Fi'zi:k Arione Donna saddle, it's still stable and supportive -- unlike the cushy seats on the stationary bikes at the gym which have you bouncing and chafing with each pedal stroke. The padding was covered in matte microtex material and two rear scuff guards in a matte chromed finish enhance the durability of the saddle.

The Vesta is built upon manganese rails. While not as lightweight as carbon, they are highly durable and actually are 8% lighter than titanium. Their durability is the product of a special finishing process which increases fatigue performance on the rail surface. They are also highly corrosion resistant.

The Fi'zi:k Vesta saddle weighs 249grams. It is available in White/glossy white, Gummy black/black, and Black/glossy black/pink.

Good seat to start with...

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

When I first started biking my husband bought this seat for me. I loved it purely because I had been riding on the crappy seat that came with my bike and anything would have been a step up from that.

The description given has a lot of true points:
1. I love that it has a more narrow front so that my legs/shorts don't rub
2. The saddle is firm but supportive- I don't feel like I'm bouncing around on a squishy seat at the gym :)
3. the seat fits my sit bones well- I'm a size 8/29 in pants if that helps you gauge it for yourself

only complaints: I have altered the positioning of the seat so that the front tips up a little bit because I feel like I'm sliding forward and ultimately resting my whole booty on the front of the seat... therefore constantly adjusting...which is not fun.

But I haven't been able to find anything else that's better yet (and I've tried 3 saddles so far this summer)
