Description

Not built for men.

Across the board, you value quality and comfort, and no saddle maker embodies these attributes more than the Italian powerhouse, Fi'zi:k. With its Vesta MG Women's Saddle, Fi'zi:k not only created a women's-specific design, but it also made the Vesta's shape specific to your riding style.

Fi'zi:k realizes that no woman's physiology and flexibility is the same. That's why its catalog is broken down into three categories of rider types -- the snake, the bull, and the chameleon. No, this isn't a children's story, instead, it's a gauge of your spine's flexibility, and the pressures associated with it. So, along these lines, Fi'zi:k recommends the Vesta MG for chameleons. This means that while you might not make full use of the saddle's surface area, you're not inhibited by shape. Accordingly, your body flexes instinctively to relieve pressure buildups. As for your spinal flex towards the bars, it lies somewhere in the middle of really flexible and stiff. This calculation is of importance, because it dictates the location and amount of pressure that relay to the saddle. So, if you feel that you rely more on your sit bones than the genital area, than the Vesta MG is for you.

To compensate for this riding style, you'll notice a wide channel running down the middle of the saddle. This relieves pressure on the genital area when you're either tired or shifting positions in the saddle or at the bars. To support the sit bones, the Vesta has a wide rear platform with a slight curve. This provides ample room for your sit bones at the rear of the saddle, but with the Wing Flex side panels, you'll find that the taper towards the nose is gradual. This allows you to hammer in the forward position without sacrificing much in the support department.

The saddle's shell is made from a carbon-reinforced nylon in order to reduce longitudinal deformation, so you won't notice any hammock effect while riding. The K:ium (pronounced 'Koom' like zoom) rails are an evolutionary step forward from titanium rails. They're 8% lighter, have a greater strength-to-weight ratio. Additionally, K:ium dampens road vibrations more effectively with its Silicium treatment. This also provides the shiny glean of the rails, which is due to its slight chrome content. Even better, the chrome increases corrosion resistance, which obviously increases the Vesta's lifespan.

The Fi'zi:k Vesta MG Women's Saddle is available in one size and in the color Pearl White/grey.

Great for more aggressive position

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Pros: durable, tear resistant, eye catching (I have the miss berlin), comfortable over variety of riding distances and positions.
Cons: wears out (as all saddles do) and i replace every 18months or 10,000miles.

I love this saddle for racing. It is comfortable and supports my wider sitbones and the channel accommodates soft tissue. On very long rides (5hrs plus) I usually experience some discomfort but i think its mostly chamois related.

The wingflex feature really works. This is why i love fizik. Almost all other brands of saddle leave me with numb feet or even legs, with the extreme chaffing at thigh/glute intersection. this doesn't happen at all with the Vesta.

That said, if you sit bolt upright and put most of your weight on your sitbones, this saddle probably won't work for you. I LOVE it. and swear by it.
