Fi'zi:k Tundra 2 K:IUM Saddle $0.00
Keep body parts happy.
The Fizik Tundra 2 K:ium Saddle is just as racy as the previous generation, though it has a bit more flex to make it more comfortable if endurance races are your thing. Even though it's designed as a mountain bike saddle, road racers might also appreciate its shape. The extra width in the nose gives just that bit of extra support when you're "on the rivet."
The Tundra has low-profile foam padding. It uses a carbon-reinforced nylon shell that is stiff, yet gives a bit across the length of the body. It bears a passing resemblance to their Arione, which some cross-country racers were sporting on their rigs. The similarities are the length and the board flat top. The Tundra is a bit more square and a bit wider than the Arione (by about 3mm at the nose). Geoff Kabush was one such racer; he actually got their first Tundra prototype in early 2008 and rode it all the way to the Olympic mountain bike race.
The K:ium rails offer a better ride than the standard titanium rails. They're 8% lighter, have greater strength to weight ratio, and absorb more vibration. The damping is thanks to silicon added to the alloy. There is also some chromium content. It makes the rails nice and shiny and increases corrosion resistance, which helps with overall durability.
The Fizik Tundra 2 K:ium Saddle is 290mm long by 125mm wide. It comes in Black/red or White/black. The Tundra possesses Fizik's Integrated Clip System (ICS), a means by which to attach a Fizik blinky light or a saddle bag directly to the saddle without the need for straps.
- K:ium rails provide superior road vibration-dampening properties
- Carbon-reinforced nylon shell provides additional flex for added comfort
- Dual-color paneled Microtex cover adds to aesthetic appeal
