Take the mountain-friendly shape of the standard Fi'zi:k Tundra saddle, give it a big boost in the comfort department, and you have the Tundra 2. Through the incorporation of a more flexible body and generous padding, comfort was increased without sacrificing a low overall weight. In fact, with the K:ium rails, this saddle still tips scales at a sub-200 gram weight.
Fans of Fi'zi:k will no doubt be aware of its 'animal' fit concept, which uses your level of flexibility to place you with the correct saddle shape. The Tundra shape falls into Fi'zi:k's 'snake' designation, meaning that it's optimized for more flexible riders. Having a greater degree of flexibility allows you to orient your hips in an upright position. In turn, this enables you to use the entire saddle, while providing plenty of support out of a relatively flat shape. A 127mm tail width makes the Tundra 2 a perfect fit for those with narrow to medium width sit bones.
As much as we like the shape of the original Tundra, there's no denying that its stiff shell and Spartan padding provide more trail feedback than many riders prefer. So, the more flexible, carbon-reinforced nylon shell and added padding of the Tundra 2 take the sting out of rough terrain. Make no mistake, though, this is no couch. It's significantly plusher than the original, making it a great option for long days in the saddle.
