The Aliante, Fizik's classic shape, may be our most popular saddle profile both in terms of sales and what's perched atop our own seatposts. For its Aliante VS Saddle, Fizik began with the generous, healthy bowl of the Aliante shape and excavated a pressure relieving channel spanning the saddle's length, adding yet one more element of comfort to a saddle that has already won over countless fans including riders like Sagan, daily commuters, and everyone in between.
The Aliante VS's rails are made of Fizik's go to choices: Kium or carbon fiber. Kium is a proprietary, chromium-finished alloy that enjoys a claimed 8% reduction in weight compared with titanium. Kium isn't quite as light as carbon, but it also doesn't require a $200 torque wrench to adjust your saddle position for fear of crushing the rails. Carbon is the wonder material you know and love: stiff, damping, and low weight. The saddle is finished with a Microtex cover whose fashionably subtle looks are equal to the abuse of training, 'cross, or the daily commute, and the shell is a nylon matrix reinforced with carbon fiber for equal parts support, lightweight, and compliant give.
