Why We Like The Five Ten Freerider Pro Cycling Shoe

Whether we are hitting the jump lines or just cruising around, having mountain bike-specific shoes makes a huge difference. The Five Ten Freerider Pro Cycling Shoe is one of our top choices when we need a no-nonsense mountain bike shoe that has all the necessary features. An impact-resistant toebox protects our feet from rock strikes, and a molded EVA midsole absorbs energy from hard landings. The synthetic upper is super durable, quick-drying, and abrasion-resistant, and a lace closure ensures we get the perfect fit every time. To stay locked into the pedals, Five Ten used their signature Stealth S1 Dotty rubber outsole to provide us an excellent grip with platform pedals, and a durable rubber compound stands up to the wear and tear of pedal pins. Finally, an Ortholite sock liner and footbed keep us comfortable all ride long.

Five Ten Cycling Shoe

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I purchased these shoes because they were suggested by a friend. He was correct, they are a good riding shoe. I didn't want to clip in and was getting "hot" foot wearing standard running shoes. I have been wearing the Five Ten for about a month now and so far so good. Would recommend.......just a note, they seem to run small in size. I wear a 12.5 - 13 shoe, but had to get a 14 in this shoe.

Quality shoe but stiff sides squeeze wider feet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The overall quality of the shoe is great. Well constructed and very nice looking. I found the sizing difficult. I read that it was better than some other shoes for wide feet, so I ordered a half size larger thinking it would provide a little extra width. But it didn’t. So I have a shoe that’s too long and a bit uncomfortable on the sides. I’m switching it out for another of the same in my regular size to see if maybe I get lucky with the width in that one. It’s a shame Adidas doesn’t just offer a wide version.

Nice shoe for average width feet

Quality is great but the fit was narrow at the sides for my somewhat (but not extremely) wide foot. It doesn’t look like the rubber material on the sides will stretch or break in. The toe box is roomy and comfortable.

Never again

Never again, five-ten went to shambles when adidas bought eh brand. I bought this shoes 3 months ago and the soles started to get cracked due to the friction with the pedals. Aren't this shoes designed for this kind off activity. I recommend Ride Concepts for all you riders.

Scores high for fit, function, and style.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great fit and look. Soles do not slip from flat pedals. Almost like being clipped in but not.
