Why We Like The Freerider Pro Cycling Shoe

We like Five Ten mountain bike shoes for their lightness and toughness that helps us take on our favorite trails. Built with durable, low-profile uppers and an impact-resistant toe box, the Freerider Pro Cycling Shoes are ideal for enduro and all-mountain riding. The sticky Stealth rubber keeps your feet confidently planted on the pedals when you're charging down steep chutes and chunky rock gardens, and the medium-flex construction offers a nice balance between on-bike responsiveness and off-bike comfort.

Perfect Biking Shoes for Flats

Not my first pair of Five Tens and won't be my last. Perfect for any time you're not clipping in! During races I usually swap pedals for SPDs, but training, fun rides, or hitting the local bike park I run flats and these shoes are sufficiently rigid and really stick to the pins. Gives great control and power transfer with the ability to reposition your foot as needed. Perfectly at home and comfortable off the bike after rides too, and honestly they've become my default shoe for day-to-day.

You're paying for the brand, not quality

I'm a pretty disappointed customer. I am a near-daily XC rider, so I need shoes that are tough and made well. These are not it. I've had these for less than a year, and they are falling apart in many ways. The bottom soles have torn and are causing issues with pedal stick. Some of the sides have cracked or torn open. And even if these weren't falling apart, they drain VERY poorly when wet. Also, the lace up design is antiquated. You can obtain the same performance and likely much higher durability elsewhere, at a far lower price. I have local friends who purchased these as well, and they are similarly disappointed. This is a great example of a product's brand commanding a high price tag, but not being matched by its performance. Would not buy again.

I rode clipped in on the road for many years and decided to give mountain biking a try. I hated the thought of riding unclipped until I fell a couple of times and decided to try flat pedals and the Freerider Pro. I was and continue to be amazed at how well the sole sticks to the pedal. I can't pull up to the top of the stroke, but the shoes stays glued to the pedal much of the way around. Could not be happier with the fit, feel, and performance of this shoe. I recommend it wholeheartedly.
