Why We Like The Five Ten Freerider Canvas Cycling Shoe

From the bike park to the barstool, the Five Ten Freerider Canvas Cycling Shoe delivers uncompromising grip and comfort no matter where we're headed. The Stealth S1 rubber with the legendary Dotty outsole pattern ensures our feet stay planted on the pedals through technical terrain, and the canvas upper is built from a combination of upcycled Parley Ocean Plastic and recycled polyester allowing the shoe to breathe so we don't end up with soaked socks when the temps start to skyrocket.

Tough and Comfy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great for walking and ridin. Also like to use for just casual shoes.

So cool!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Shoes are the cutest! They are wide and run big. I wear an 8 and purchased a 7. I will ride in them but mostly just like the colors!

Great MTB shoes!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are the best MTB for those of us with wider feet and need a “cooler” shoe. The canvas keeps my feet cooler in our Arizona deserts. They also stick well to the pedals.

Fantastic

Great fit, and nothing even comes close for grip on the pedals!

great shoe

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Excellent quality and fit. Sticky and stiff soles have good traction on the pedals but not great for lots of walking.

Awesome shoes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First pair of 5-10s. Felt great right out of the box with no break in period.

Not as grippy as prior versions

The soles have no grip and are slippery and dangerous to bike in. The shoes feel a half size to full size larger than previous versions. At first I thought I was given a mens shoe. These shoes have always been wider but are now feel too big/wide. These should be marketed as a street shoe. I would not recommend biking in them after riding in them once. I have purchased various Freerider flats for 7+ years. I normally don't review products but these feel unsafe enough to bike in. I purchased the Crimson color and they do look cute, just not functional. I really hope the Freerider Pro has better grip; those have traditionally been my go-to for longer and hotter rides and the Freerider Canvas has been my go-to for shorter/colder rides. I did compare the soles of an older Freerider Canvas shoe and can confirm they have much better grip than this pair. Hopefully this will get resolved in a future release.
