Exposure's best-selling handlebar torch returns to burn safe passages across trails and roads in the form of the Diablo Mk7 Headlight with Helmet and HB Mount. If there are differences between the Mk7 and its predecessor, the Mk6, they're so imperceptible as to not be readily apparent. And that's a good thing, since the Mk6's Tap Activated Power (TAP), cable- and battery-free design, versatile mounting options, and brighter-than-a-car-headlight output won so many converts for life. We say for life, because the Diablo Mk7's machined body and meticulous build quality mean that it will likely outlast your frame.
When put on full tilt, the Diablo's three XML LEDs produce a remarkable 1,300 lumens. Considering that most car headlamps produce around 800 lumens, the Diablo's output is especially amazing when you realize it weighs a mere 119 claimed grams. Toggling through the Diablo's multiple, programmable flash and steady modes is incredibly easy given the light's TAP technology. TAP, or Tap Activated Power, negates the need to fumble for a small button on the back of a light that's bouncing around on your helmet. The light recognizes a sharp tap and cycles through its modes accordingly.
