Hang on tight, you’re about to get down and dirty.

Professional racers are very meticulous about their equipment selection. They compulsively seek out the ways to shave a few extra grams from their bikes, but also understand the importance of comfort and durability. Some places they are willing to compromise comfort for weight savings and others not. When items like the ESI Racer's Edge grip consistently adorns the bikes of pros, especially those that are unsponsored, it speaks volumes of the product's merit.

ESI grips have swept the Elite Cross County ranks with force. The 100% Silicone grips are substantially lighter than your standard rubber grip, do not slip, and offer much better comfort and shock absorption than foam or bar tape! The grips are UV resistant so the bold colors will not fade or harden with time.

The ESI Racer's Edge grip is the thinner of the two. It saves around 10 grams from the ESI Chunky grip for the weight obsessed and a good choice for those who prefer the feel of thin grips. The Racer's Edge weighs in at 48g. Installed, the grips measure 5-1/8" in length and 30mm in diameter. ESI grips include bar end plugs. We recommend using rubbing alcohol and/or compressed air for installation and removal.

Science Experiment Gone Wrong

Kinda tricky to install properly, but do hold there position well, even when wet. Not sure how the grip is in the wet, but I have a feeling they may not be great based on the wet install they seemed very slippery. Felt good; I like a thin grip.

They make removing slide-on shifters or brakes very difficult since they have to be slipped back off the bars and reinstalled wet and allowed to dry for 24 hours(maybe really more like 6hrs).

The worst part by far is Durability. I bought two sets one for the AM bike and one for the DH bike a month ago. They both have chunks missing out of them. One from the most benign slow speed crashes ever and the other sliced open from a trail side brush. Plus the end cap broke off on the DH bike. Now I get to pry that out of the bar end.

Great idea but leaves a lot to be desired. Regular lock-on grips may seem excessive to some but the functionality and durability pay off quickly.

Best grip out there

These grips are awesome. They are very light and comfortable. If you use some hair spray or clear spray paint to put them on they will never slip. Just grip it and rip it!!

Windex or alchohol works really well too. Just spray inside the grip and soak the bar end, let dry and you're set.
