PC2 Pedal

Flat pedals aren't just for curmudgeons and kids; we know lots of folks who ride flats. While most of those tend towards the wilder side of mountain biking, we have cross-country riding friends who prefer to be free from the confines of typical clipless pedal systems as well. Ergon makes the PC2 Pedals specifically for mountain bikers or commuters that want flat pedals without the excessive radness or intimidation of BMX-style pedals with gnarly, shin-tenderizing spikes.

Like their line of biomechanically-inspired contoured grips, Ergon designed the PC2 Pedals with the goal of optimizing them for foot placement and biomechanics. And with this in mind, the result is a set of pedals that creates a comfortable platform, without causing hot spots or sore feet. The platform on each pedal is set at a 6 degree angle for proper joint alignment through the foot, knee, and hip.

Ergon builds the PC2 Pedals with the help of a couple of key partners. They leaned on Magura, an expert in injection molding, for the development of the GFK composite body. It's durable and allowed the designers the freedom to create the shapes they wanted. It spins on Igus polymer bearings, another German manufacturing partner with extensive knowledge. The composite body has built-in reflectors on the front and back edges. They also make use of 3M grip tape on both sides of the pedals to help you keep your foot in place as you ride.

The Ergon PC2 Pedals are black and come in two sizes—Small and Large. The small works for feet smaller than 42 European or 8.5 US. The large works for anything larger than that.
