M60 Forty HV 27.5in Chris King Wheelset

ENVE's M60 Forty HV 27.5in Chris King Wheelset combines some of our favorite features for mid-travel riding in one harmonious marriage. The mid-size wheels and a wider cross section — up 3mm from the standard M60 Forties — make for more agility while cleaning climbs or challenging lines across rock gardens while allowing more aggressive, high-volume tires to sit as fat as possible. The final bits of tech we love here are Chris King's ISO hubs, whose quick engagement and signature swarm-of-bees freewheel ups the lust factor by one more notch.

Boosted width aside, the M60 Forty HV model still targets the space between XC and all-mountain rims with a blend of lightweight speed and big-hit durability that covers the majority of off-road riding. It may weigh a bit more than the standard model, but the HV is still among the lightest wheels we'd pair with a five-inch trail bike. The HV model's greater width makes the rims stiffer and also allows a higher tire volume for increased cornering stability and more rubber on the ground at any given time, and ENVE's signature carbon expertise mean the wheels will likely outlast your next few frames.
